RICK was well represented at the 2026 SoCal Public Works Expo this week, with leaders from our Riverside, Irvine, and San Diego offices in attendance. Thank you to the Southern California APWA Chapter for bringing together so many professionals and leaders across the industry!

A few Spring traditions brought to you by our RAC team! Tucson celebrated Spring with an Easter egg hunt, with Pattie Davis cleaning house and finding the most eggs. San Diego had a chili cook off event, and the winner was Laura Henry with her aptly named “Not Vegan Chili."

RICK San Diego is headed to Mission Valley Mall on Saturday, April 18th for the 2026 Earth & Engineering Day event! RICK will be there running a few interactive stations! Catch the RICK booth at the Nordstrom Rack Court from 10am to 5pm on April 18th. Kids of all ages welcome!

Jayne Janda-Timba and Ash Paranthaman, PE, QSD, QSP will be speaking at the upcoming APWA San Diego County Chapter Stormwater's "Getting to Know Your Permits" seminar on April 14th, along with speakers from County of San Diego and The City of San Diego. We hope to see you there!

While we are sad to see Tom Martin step away from his role at RICK, it is rewarding to know that for two decades we were fortunate to have one of the most respected professionals in the industry on our team. Congratulations, Tom. Thank you for everything you’ve given to RICK.

Switch is a 276-unit multifamily community in Colorado Springs. As more people move in, projects like this are helping create places people want to call home. RICK supported surveying and field work, including layout and as-builts.

For World Water Day, we’re taking a closer look at our Water Resources team through the Rainbow Creek Restoration Project. Lower flows were redirected through a restored channel, helping improve water quality while allowing stormwater to flow safely.

On February 19th, the Town of Frederick, CO officially adopted the Frederick Downtown Plan. We’re grateful to have been part of it and are excited to see how downtown Frederick continues to grow in the years ahead. #RICKColorado

A project years in the making, the new Point Loma Gateway Sign now stands as a lasting part of the community. RICK is proud to have been involved in the project from early conceptual planning through final approvals.

Happy National Surveyors Week to our survey teams! We’re proud to recognize the work they do through our surveying services in Arizona, California, and Colorado. We appreciate the work our crews do every day in the field.

ADA compliance in site design comes down to the details. Theresa DeMarco recently led a CASp Accessibility Training at our San Diego office, walking through ADA and Title 24 requirements and the gray areas of the code that come up during planning.

RICK Associate Project Engineer Ash Paranthaman recently volunteered with ASCE’s YMF to introduce students to civil engineering through hands-on activities like “The Floor is Lava,” where students built structures to save toy bears from the lava below.

Kim Ceresa was recently awarded the 2026 Wise Warrior Award through the KWALG Crown Impact Awards and Colorado Construction & Design magazine. After more than two decades with RICK, this recognition celebrates the remarkable impact she has made. Congratulations, Kim!

Our San Diego office celebrated Fat Thursday with dishes from The Gumbo Pot SD and Bud’s Louisiana Café, plus a certified New Orleans King Cake. Over 70 people attended, and for many it was their first time trying Cajun and Creole food.
