Democrats have an easy-to-understand proposal before them – the latest serious offer from Republicans to get DHS back up and running. They have repeatedly said that they want to pay TSA, Coast Guard, FEMA, and employees who defend America from cyberattacks. This bill would do it.

The SAVE America Act cannot procedurally be passed through reconciliation. The parliamentarian will strip out provisions like voter ID, etc. Any Republican senator claiming it can be done that way is LYING. The SAVE America Act only stands a chance if it is attached to FISA.

The only reason there's so much urgency on Save Act is bc GOP is going to get hammered in the midterms & Trump needs this to have a chance.

@sfeculak @RepLuna What exactly is that ID supposed to show? That you are eligible to vote. What is the main requirement to vote in a U.S. election? That you are a U.S. citizen. If not one and the same then they are certainly complimentary.

@RickF35464 @RepLuna You're misrepresenting data. 80% approve of an ID. SAVE Act defines only IDs that prove citizenship, which your typical drivers license or state issued ID doesn't do. That's the issue. In NC we have an ID law but you can use a variety of state and federal issued IDs.
