The Tsunade retrieval arc wasn't a mission, and I guess the Sasuke retrieval arc was a mission, but both of those had insane non-ninja-like battles too. But fair enough, Shippuden did get kind of crazy. That still means it's not a Boruto thing and was always there

@Rick_Diggins @robkeane @mangaplus_o Nope, that battle was a thing but then the whole thing got held back again. Naruto only went to learn rasengan afterwards. It was still missions and this and that. Shippuden is where it went downhill

@robkeane @mangaplus_o Naruto hasn't been about Ninjas since they had a Kaiju battle in the Chunin Exams. This was never a Boruto problem, and Naruto has barely ever been about actual ninjas.
