Why didn’t the super team 2023 49ers win the Super Bowl? I thought being the most talented team automatically guaranteed you a Super Bowl especially combining that with a god tier coach like Shanahan and a QB like Purdy who plays the position the way it’s supposed to be played.

It’s time to start giving Christian McCaffrey serious consideration for MVP. While Brock Purdy has been necessary for the 49ers to be the NFL’s #1 offense, SF required CMC to stay afloat. That’s “value” in the truest sense. McCaffrey leads the league with over 2,000 yards from scrimmage and has stayed available despite massive volume usage — necessary due to the 49ers’ injuries. Physically, what CMC has done is more difficult than what the QB candidates have done. 4 running backs have won MVP since 2000. There is precedent — and McCaffrey’s resumé might be stronger than any of them because of his receiving prowess
