The Islamic Republic has launched missiles at the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia. It is targeting our Arab neighbors. These violations of their sovereignty are unacceptable and we condemn them. But this is nothing new. This is who the Islamic Republic has always been. And this is why it must end. For nearly five decades, this terrorist regime has sown chaos and bloodshed across our region. It propped up Assad, turning Syria into a graveyard. It planted Hezbollah; as a state within a state in Lebanon. It armed the Houthis to destabilize the Arabian Peninsula. It empowered militias in Iraq that undermine Iraqi sovereignty. It attacked the economic hubs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. None of this has ever been the desire of the Iranian people, but rather that of the regime occupying our country. Now, however, the landscape has fundamentally shifted. Assad is gone. Hezbollah has been decimated. The regime’s military nuclear program has been set back. Its economy is in freefall. The pillars of this regime’s aggression are crumbling. The Iranian people have paid the price, in blood, to reach this moment. The regime massacred at least tens of thousands of my compatriots in just two days. But it didn’t break the people. Instead, the regime itself is breaking. Today, history reminds us of our future potential. Before the revolution, Iran worked closely with Arab leaders — from King Faisal to Sheikh Zayed to King Hussein to President Sadat. In Oman, my father helped Sultan Qaboos defend his country against insurgency. We were true partners then. We will be true partners again. The Iranian people have called on me to lead the transition after the regime is gone. I have accepted that responsibility. Part of their great mandate to me is to return our nation and our foreign relations to normalcy. I will do exactly that. My commitment is to ensure the transition is orderly, the country is stabilized, and Iranians determine their future through the ballot box. We will not repeat the mistakes of past transitions. We will avoid de-Baathification scenarios and maintain as many bureaucrats and public servants in the transition as possible. Iranians have made their choice — at an enormous price. Now I ask our friends in the Arab world to join us. To prepare to recognize and engage our transitional government. We will rebuild our nation not for expansion, but to serve the Iranian people. We will base our diplomatic relations, not on exportation of ideology, but on mutual respect and shared interests. We will reintegrate into the regional and global economy to increase prosperity for the citizens of all of our nations. Standing with the Iranian people is not charity. It is a strategic investment in making our region one of the most stable, secure, and prosperous in the world. Together, we can build a Middle East our children will be proud to inherit. Take this new path with us.

My family and I watched the 60 Minutes interview with Donald Trump and Norah O’Donnell last night, and we were shocked. Seeing a president speak to a woman journalist with that level of contempt — and a clear allergy to facts — is disturbing, though at this point not unexpected given his pattern of behavior. But that is the problem. Because when that level of disrespect from the highest office in the country repeats itself, it starts to trickle down into our culture and define what power looks like, shaping how boys and plenty of men see women and girls and what they come to accept as normal behavior.

نامه‌ی منوچهر بختیاری به شاهزاده رضا پهلوی به نام خاک پاک ایران و ملت دربند ایران اینجانب در سال ۹۸، در اوج خیزش مردم، هنگامی که فرزند برومندم پویا را برای آزادی ایران از دست دادم، در گفتگو با شما سوگند خوردم؛ سوگندی که به‌عنوان کاوه آهنگر تا آزادی جان، برای آزادی ایران، بازگشت نهاد شاهنشاهی و حاکمیت به مردم بجنگم. با بیشترین هزینه‌ها و تاوان‌ها، در طی سال‌ها حتی یک قدم به عقب برنداشتم. این سوگند را با هفت سال زندان، شکنجه، انفرادی و از دست دادن زندگی و خانواده‌ام عمل کردم؛ بهایش را با گوشت و خون و جان پرداختم. اما امروز، با گذشت زمان، حقیقتی روشن‌تر از همیشه پیش روی ماست. در میان مدعیان پادشاهی‌خواهی، این شما هستید که بیش از همه به آنچه سوگند خوردید و به نهاد شاهنشاهی پشت کرده‌اید. ما از حاکمیت مردم دفاع می‌کنیم، بر پایه قانون اساسی مشروطه؛ قانونی که نیاکان ما، همچون سردار اسعد بختیاری‌ها، تا پای جان برای آن ایستادند. اما شما همان قانونی را که به آن سوگند خوردید نادیده گرفتید و خود را «پدر» نامیدید. دموکراسی نوین همان حاکمیت مردم است؛ یعنی خواست و اراده مردم بر هر چیز مقدم است. ما جنگیدیم، هزاران کشته دادیم تا تصمیم‌گیرنده مردم باشند، نه تحمیل اراده فردی. نمی‌توان از دموکراسی سخن گفت، اما صدای منتقدان را با برچسب «نفوذی» خاموش کرد. شما به‌عنوان رهبر انقلاب ملی، پیش از هر چیز باید با مردم صادق باشید. اما متأسفانه تنها صدای اطرافیانتان را می‌شنوید؛ کسانی که به دنبال سهم‌خواهی و قدرت‌طلبی هستند و اهداف خود را در قالب «دفترچه گذار» با استفاده از نام و جایگاه شما به مردم تحمیل می‌کنند، در حالی که کمترین هزینه‌ای برای آزادی ایران نپرداخته‌اند. رهبری مردمی که زیر سلطه رژیمی مسلح هستند، با نشست‌های خارجی، عکس گرفتن و دیدار با سرمایه‌داران محقق نمی‌شود. مردمی که مقابل اسلحه و تیربار نفس می‌کشند، مطالباتشان سرمایه‌گذاری فردای ایران نیست. آزادی با برنامه‌های کلی و مبهم به دست نمی‌آید. من به‌عنوان کسی که فرزندش را برای آزادی ایران از دست داده، و سال‌ها با جان، خون و مال خود و خانواده‌اش هزینه داده، از درون زندان‌ها و میان زندانیان سیاسی، از شما می‌پرسم: برنامه‌تان برای سرنگونی رژیم چیست؟ آیا برنامه عملی و سازوکاری برای این کار وجود دارد؟ اگر هست، اکنون که رژیم در ضعیف‌ترین وضعیت است، چرا اجرا نمی‌شود؟ در خیزش‌ها، مردم به میدان آمدند، گلوله خوردند، کشته شدند، زندانی و شکنجه شدند و اعدام شدند. ده‌ها هزار خانواده داغدار شدند و صدها هزار نفر بازداشت شدند. چه حمایتی از این مردم شد؟ چرا پیام‌های نیروهای داخل بی‌پاسخ ماند؟ مردم همه‌چیزشان را دادند. آیا فقط آن باقی مانده بود که شما نیز پا به میدان بگذارید؟ وعده دادید که در تدارک آمدن به ایران هستید. رهبر یا وعده نمی‌دهد، یا اگر بدهد، عمل می‌کند. آیا می‌توان برای آزادی به بیگانه تکیه کرد؟ به کسانی که یک روز مردم ایران را تهدید می‌کنند و روز دیگر با همان حکومت مذاکره می‌کنند؟ هر بیگانه‌ای منافع خود را در اولویت دارد. ما باید بر خود تکیه کنیم. چرا از ضعف رژیم که زیر فشار خارجی است استفاده نمی‌کنید و وارد عمل نمی‌شوید؟ آزادی بدون هزینه به دست نمی‌آید، اما این هزینه نمی‌تواند همیشه از جیب مردم پرداخت شود. چرا طی این سال‌ها هیچ سازماندهی واقعی شکل نگرفت؟ چرا حمایت مؤثری از زندانیان سیاسی و خانواده‌هایشان نشد؟ چرا ارتباط پایداری با داخل برقرار نشد؟ و بدتر از همه، صدای مبارزان داخل—زندانیان سیاسی و دادخواهان—نه‌تنها توسط رژیم، بلکه توسط اطرافیان شما نیز خاموش شد. صدایی که زندان و شکنجه نتوانست خاموش کند، با بایکوت و حذف رسانه‌ای خاموش شد. ما حمایت نکردیم که همان ساختار سرکوب در خارج بازتولید شود. حمایت نکردیم که نیروهای مستقل و میهن‌پرست حذف و تخریب شوند. حتی خانواده‌هایی که بیشترین هزینه را داده‌اند، از این تخریب‌ها در امان نمانده‌اند. چرا در تجمعات خارج از کشور جای تصاویر جانباختگان خالی است؟ حمایت از زندانیان سیاسی کجاست؟ اگر هدف آزادی ایران است، این مسیر از مردم می‌گذرد، نه از پروژه‌های رسانه‌ای بیرونی. این یک هشدار است، نه یک درخواست. وعده‌های بی‌پشتوانه و عملیات فریب، مانند ادعای «۱۵۰ هزار نیروی ریزشی» یا «ارتش گارد جاویدان»، فقط جان مردم را به خطر می‌اندازد. امید کاذب مردم را به مقابله با گلوله می‌فرستد و ناامیدی پس از آن سرمایه اجتماعی را نابود می‌کند. ایران با پروژه‌های مصنوعی آزاد نمی‌شود. اینجا گلوله واقعی است، زندان واقعی است، اعدام واقعی است. مردان و زنانی که ایستاده‌اند واقعی‌اند و هزینه‌هایی که می‌دهند واقعی است. ادامه👇
