When a passenger was seriously injured after stepping off the bus, MCTS Operator Fallicy A. didn’t hesitate. She called for paramedics & stayed with the rider until help arrived, showing compassion, professionalism & care when it mattered most. Thank you, Fallicy! #MCTSExcellence

The Blizzard Warning has ended, but a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM. Blowing and drifting snow is still an issue. DPW crews will continue working overnight. Snow/ice service requests can be made at 414-286-CITY, MKEMobileAction app, Milwaukee.gov/click4action.

The snow may have stopped coming down, but travel conditions can still be tricky. Blowing & drifting snow could affect your commute home, & delays are still possible. Plan ahead & use our real-time tools to track your bus so you can stay out of the cold.

Blowing and Drifting snow will continue late afternoon into the evening generally east of a line from Berlin to Janesville. This will likely result in travel impacts for the evening commute. A Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 9 PM CDT in the east.

Our drivers are navigating all of it in a 40-foot bus while keeping passengers safe. They are also dealing with the same life challenges many people are facing. Closed schools or schedules needing to be switched. Family members who get sick.

Behind every bus on the road is a person who is dealing with the same things everyone else is right now. Today’s winter weather is a good reminder of that. Snowy streets, slippery intersections, reduced visibility, and slower traffic make getting anywhere harder.

If you’re out shoveling, please consider clearing snow from sidewalks and bus stops along your property. This helps all our neighbors, especially those who are visually-impaired or who rely on a mobility device, and is in keeping with local ordinances and state statutes.

While MCTS local service continues to operate during winter weather conditions, the 40U and 44U are not in service. This is due to @UWM’s cancellation of all in-person classes, public events, and student activities. As in-person UWM operations resume, so will MCTS service.

Garbage and recycling collection is suspended today so crews and equipment can assist with snow removal. DPW crews worked through the night clearing streets. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 4 PM. Avoid travel if possible and if you must be out, please drive carefully.
