EMW allowed only 34 receptions in coverage for his 4 year career at Toledo. And he had just one penalty for his career alongside 5 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles, and 11 PBUs. He was named a Third-Team All-American and made First-Team All-Mac after a season where he had a 99th percentile forced incompletion rate of 33.3% and a 92.0 coverage grade. EMW has 32-inch arms which is very good length for a safety. His length allows him to disrupt passing lanes that shorter safeties simply cannot reach. He compliments this with good mobility and athleticism. EMW’s overall range as a safety might rival both Dillon Thieneman and Caleb Downs. He can align all over the field and play strong in run support like an extra linebacker. With his frame teams might even be able to give him some weird man coverage assignments. For instance, I’m pretty sure he can stay with bigger heavy-footed receivers. There will be matchups where he’ll give a defensive coordinator additional playcall versatility. EMW missed 4 games in 2024 at Toledo and he had a pedestrian 15.5% missed tackle rate.There are concerns about his technique as a tackler.
