Hands-on portion of training was done utilizing the Monroe County Fire Bureau's HAZMAT apparatus. Special thanks to the Monroe County Fire Bureau, and the Barnard Fire Department for the assistance.

Yesterday, the @GreeceCentral Responding to Emergencies (RTE) students were able to participate in the Hazmat First Responder Operations training course. This course delivers training on several skills.

Tonight we responded w/ @RidgeRoadFD to a home on Lee Rd for the report of a living room on fire. Units arrived within 3 mins to extinguish the fire in the living room. Minor damage to the home & no injuries. Occupants are expected to reoccupy the home. #GatesFD #GatesNY

Great submissions from people in our community who made sure their fire hydrants were cleaned out after the snowfall yesterday. Fire doubles in size every 30 seconds. Taking several minutes locating & clearing a hydrant during a fire puts everyone at risk. Thanks again!

We would also like to wish Firefighter Broghan Enright well on his deployment out of country with the US Army. Broghan leaves today and is expected to be gone most of the year.

Coming and going The RRFD welcomes home Lt. Jordan Kesel from his deployment overseas with the USAF. Lt. Kesel spent a little under a year away from us and we are happy to have him back.
