Fuel Up Night at @D59Ridge! Thanks to our volunteers + @elkgroveparks for making it a successful evening! Students were able to taste test some healthy snacks, discover which drinks contain the most sugar, participate in physical activity, and learn about EGPD summer programming!

I’d like to extend a huge shout out to some student-athletes from @PHS_DeBoeuf + @FlagFootballPHS who volunteered their time at @D59Ridge’s Fuel Up Night! Such great role models for our students! Thanks for dedicating your time to the community and promoting a healthy lifestyle!

Maybe you’ve heard of Minute to Win It…These challenges took a little more time, so we call this 101 to Get It Done! Our team-based 101-second challenges included balancing foam noodles, cone flipping, a pedometer challenge, dice stacking, and more! @D59Ridge #PhysEd

Introduction to Strikerball using lollipop paddles with first grade! We discussed strategies for defending and worked on our striking skills!

Putting some different jump roping skills we’ve practiced to the test today! Ss chose their method of jumping, while adding the # of total jumps for the team! Great teamwork and encouragement from our groups today in PE! Always helps to have some motivational jumping music too!

After honing in our stick handling, passing, shooting, + defensive skills, we’re onto some floor hockey games! Students are experiencing the different positions and working out offensive + defensive strategies! Next we’ll wear pedometers while we play to track # of steps/game!

Huge shoutout to Jackson Parrish for coming by to hang out in PE with the students @D59Ridge yesterday! Students had a great time hearing about life at @KnightsofPHS and connecting with a great role model! We can’t wait for his next visit! #EveryKnight

Amazing Alphabet! Each round starts w/ a category (animals, foods, longest word, etc) Throw/roll the letter dice + each player on your team thinks of a word that starts with the letter, + writes it down. Awesome creativity and collaboration from our 2nd graders! @D59Ridge #PhysEd

Continuing our dual sport unit with some team air hockey! We compared and contrasted strategies we used in previous activities!

Introducing individual and dual sports to 2nd grade with some Slam Ball. We discussed how teamwork and different strategies can make us successful!

Many of our 3rd graders are trying pickleball for the first time! Great to see students embrace trying new skills + games! Love the sportsmanship with a secret paddle handshake too! #PhysEd @D59Ridge
