It is the belief that your country, your people, your culture, and your future matter enough to defend. Every country on Earth looks out for its own interests — and America should be no different. Wanting secure borders is not extremism. Wanting safe communities is not extremism. Wanting American jobs to go to American workers is not extremism. Wanting leaders who prioritize the citizens they were elected to represent should be the bare minimum. For decades, Americans have watched their factories close, their wages stagnate, their neighborhoods change overnight, and their voices ignored by both political parties. They are told to sacrifice more while the people in power grow richer and more disconnected from the country they govern. The average American is expected to carry the burden of inflation, rising crime, housing shortages, and endless spending abroad while being told that questioning any of it makes them “dangerous.” No. What is dangerous is a government that forgets who it exists to serve. An America First movement should stand for strong borders, economic independence, energy independence, law and order, freedom of speech, and policies that benefit citizens before non-citizens. It should reject endless foreign intervention and nation-building overseas while American cities decay and American families struggle to survive. We should not be apologetic about loving our country or wanting to preserve what made it strong in the first place. National pride does not require hatred of anyone else. You can believe in sovereignty without believing in supremacy. You can believe America has the right to protect its identity, culture, and interests without believing other nations or peoples are lesser. Every people on Earth have the right to preserve their nation and advocate for their own future. Americans have that right too. The people running this country want Americans divided, ashamed, distracted, and dependent. They want citizens arguing with each other while the political establishment expands its power and ignores the collapsing foundation underneath the country. But nationalism says something simple and powerful: the American people are not an afterthought. They are the priority. That is not radical. That is what a nation is supposed to be.
