The election for the workers took place on May 1 when dispensary employees voted 14-1 to remove UFCW Local 99 as the employees’ representative. However, UFCW union bosses filed a last-minute request with the NLRB seeking to overturn the workers’ decisive vote against the union.

Employees of Curaleaf Camelback Dispensary overwhelmingly voted United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 99 union bosses out of power at their workplace.

Thirty-four years ago today, @RightToWork attorneys stood before the U.S. Third Circuit to defend well over 50k PA state employees. They challenged AFSCME's illegal seizure of agency fees from non-members — money taken for political spending and other non-bargaining activities.

Well the @UAW used at least three of these to accumulate $1.25 billion: ✅ Profiting from a (government-enforced) monopoly ✅ Political payoffs (protecting special government-granted power to force workers to pay dues or else be fired) ✅ Fraud (massive corruption and embezzlement by union bosses of workers' money)

Charlene Carter just won a huge case against union bosses who got her fired for daring to disagree with how union officials used her forced dues for political causes she opposed. Justice served, right? Not so fast. After nearly a decade in court and despite this legal victory… Carter STILL has to pay dues to the same union. Big Labor can have you fired from your job, lose in court, even end up paying a substantial settlement, and still force you to fund them anyway, all thanks to politicians they bankroll with billions in forced dues. If that sounds insane, it’s because it is. Until forced unionism is abolished, this will keep happening. Period. For example, employees are forbidden from decertifying their incumbent union representative for as long as three years, simply because the union and employer have reached a collective bargaining agreement.

The truth is that various bureaucratically invented rules prevent workers from holding accountable the union bosses who supposedly "represent" them.
