California’s two-term treasurer, Fiona Ma (马世云), has met with high-level 🇨🇳 CCP officials and intelligence personnel dozens of times in the last several decades. During these many meetings in the US and China, the Democratic frontrunner in California’s 2026 lieutenant governor race has introduced American lawmakers to 🇨🇳 intelligence officials and also repeatedly presented awards to CCP members and influence operatives. “We really should be more integrated,” Ma said during a 2023 interview with state-run media outlet CGTN. “The more that we can get along, work together, I think would create more peace in the world as well as better economic opportunities for both countries.” “CCP elite capture is alive and well. Any politician who continues to engage in these types of behavior is not a target, but is complicit in CCP activities. Ignorance is no longer an excuse.” Ma’s ties to China recently came under scrutiny following an report revealing that in Sep 2023 she offered to help secure US internships and employment opportunities for students attending the Pegasus California School, which was founded in the coastal city of Qingdao by Ma’s campaign finance committee chair. Pegasus’ students, who are 🇨🇳 nationals, have allegedly received unlawful California high school diplomas through a partnership with the Val Verde Unified School District, according to a 2026 Riverside County Office of Education audit of the district, which did not accuse Ma of wrongdoing. 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 Ma has met with officials from the CCP and its United Front Work Department (UFWD) at least 30 times. Born in New York to Chinese immigrants from a prominent military family, Ma began taking US lawmakers to China in 1999 while working as an aide for the late California Democratic Sen. John Burton, state-run China Daily reported. Ma led that delegation alongside an individual who also holds a position with the 🇨🇳 government as an advisor to Sichuan province, according to an interview Ma conducted with 🇨🇳 state media. That advisor has also participated in several other China trips Ma has organized for US lawmakers since she became a public servant in 2002, including a Dec 2014 trip during which Ma introduced over 20 California State Legislature members to 🇨🇳 government and UFWD officials while visiting Sichuan on a trade delegation. Since Ma’s Jan 2019 inauguration as California treasurer, she has met with 🇨🇳 government and CCP intelligence officials over 20 times, including three meetings in China in 2023. Ma has also personally awarded CCP members and 🇨🇳 intelligence officials with commendations on behalf of her office at least 10 times since 2018. California’s chief financial officer presented one award to the chairman of the Chinese People’s Association For Friendship With Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) during his Feb 2023 visit to the US, a photo accompanying an announcement from that UFWD affiliate shows. CPAFFC has sought to directly and malignly influence state and local leaders to promote China’s global agenda. Although there is no evidence that CPAFFC has ever sought to influence Ma, other 🇨🇳 government officials have reportedly pressured the politician to adopt their preferred policy positions in the past. In one instance, while serving on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in Aug 2005, the 🇨🇳 government allegedly successfully pressured Ma to withdraw her support for an art exhibit organized by practitioners of Falun Gong, which is a spiritual movement that the CCP banned in 1999, The San Francisco Chronicle reported. Several years later, while serving as a California State Assemblywoman, Ma allegedly killed a resolution honoring Tibet in Mar 2009 following intense 🇨🇳 government lobbying, The Sacramento Bee reported. Frequent meetings with 🇨🇳 government and CCP intelligence officials by lawmakers should set off a “flashing red light for our national security and intelligence agencies.” dailycaller.com/2026/05/18/exc…

💥 California state treasurer Fiona Ma (马世云) took thousands in campaign donations from the founder of a Chinese boarding school at the center of a bombshell fraud probe — and reportedly promised to hook up the children of Chinese elites with jobs and internships during a secret visit in 2023. Ma, who is running for lieutenant governor, has accepted more than $30,000 from Steven Ma (马振翼), the founder of a $34,000-per-year, Qingdao-based boarding school under investigation for allegedly churning out bogus California diplomas for well-connected Chinese students. An astonishing 1000-page audit conducted by Riverside County found “a pattern of favors, official acts, promises, and payments” related to a government-approved pilot program between Pegasus California School and Val Verde School District in Riverside County. Pegasus California School handed out diplomas that looked like they were issued by Val Verde schools in California — a selling point for Chinese students wanting a spot in the elite University of California system — with the help of top officials with the Department of Education and Val Verde School District who pushed the program, according to the audit. Steven Ma worked closely with former California superintendent Tom Torlakson, Val Verde school administrator Michal McCormick and consultant Dave Long to help catapult the Chinese students into coveted University of California spots — in an arrangement deemed “sketchy” by one university official. The audit found evidence of “potential bribes and/or kickbacks in the form of direct and indirect financial benefits” to the California officials — such as a $13,600 campaign contribution to Torlakson, a paid consulting offer to McCormick, and free trips to China for school board members. nypost.com/2026/04/20/us-… politico.com/news/2026/04/2…

China cannot build the world's best computer chips. So instead, they are trying to steal the credit. Look closely at this Chinese chart. It puts a China flag next to the bosses of NVIDIA, AMD, and TSMC. All three of these tech leaders are actually from Taiwan. But Beijing labels them as "China Taiwan". This is an old trick. China has even listed TSMC as a Chinese company in the past. They want everyone to believe that they are the ones leading the global AI race. But slapping a Chinese flag on Taiwanese success does not change the facts. It just shows how desperate Beijing is to look like a tech superpower. #UnveiledChina #Semiconductors #Taiwan #NVIDIA #AMD #TSMC #Tech #AI

The absolute surreal state of play with HK political persecutions today where the PRC Chinese government, which outlaws elections in China, is instructing the HKSAR authorities to prosecute Hongkongers who call to boycott the city's fake and Potemkin window dressing "elections"..

All of these companies will ultimately be controlled by the CCP. They will be subsidized by the Chinese government to undermine their western competitors. Chinese companies should be treated like they are part of a monopoly. Because they are.

🚨Everyone is reading this week wrong. They say allies are hedging against an unreliable Trump. Look at the sequence again: Trump left China → called Tokyo from the plane → 5 days later, 5 leaders moved in lockstep. This wasn't panic. This was a plan. 👇x.com/aricchen/statu…

Blume Industries CEO Balding 大老板
Let's take another view point on how to think of the recent Trump-Xi summit. It doesn't matter and the reasons it does matter are not about politics. In easily the past decade, probably the past two decades, you would be hard pressed to point to ANY US-China summit that positively changed the direction of bilateral relations. Seriously name one major bilateral summit that materially changed US-China relations for a sustained period of time. I'm not talking a month. You can't do it. Let me strongly emphasize, I am not blaming GOP or Dems(though I am blaming idiot think tankers and journos that think these things matter) China agreed to address IP concerns, not militarize the South China Sea, and crackdown on fentanyl producers just for starters and they have done nothing but lie to the US at summits. So let's take two opposite scenarios at the same time. Trump gets back from Beijing and he has come home a) with the greatest deal ever from Beijing. They have totally collapsed agreed to give him the sun, moon, and the stars. b) Agreed to nothing. Told him we plan to invade Taiwan in a week, Tokyo is in our cross hairs. Here is the question I want you to focus on: should anything Beijing "agrees" to change anything the US should be doing right now to challenge China? Nope. Not at all. Let me rephrase: assume Beijing promises to play really nice, give us all the rare earths we want, cutoff Russia and Iran, open the Chinese market, should we stop preparing to challenge their stranglehold on rare earths or trust we won't need missiles to defend Taiwan? Not a chance in hell. This is why I said at the outset, I hope nothing happens. Keep on focusing on the things we need to change that we can control. We've been doing a lot and there is a lot of positive things happening there. The rest is noise

New open-source analysis reveals more than 6,000 joint projects between 🇦🇺 institutions and 🇨🇳 PLA-linked institutions in the past 6 years alone. Researchers from at least 80 🇦🇺 organizations co-authored papers on technology with military applications with counterparts at 🇨🇳 National University of Defence Technology and other PLA-affiliated institutions. For example, researchers at the Australian National University, Melbourne University and the University of Queensland have collaborated with Chinese partners developing drone target-tracking and anti-jamming technologies, and new electronic warfare capabilities. Federal Education Minister Jason Clare recently pulled the plug on 13 taxpayer-funded research collaborations involving technology that could be weaponized against Australia, and has vowed to introduce stronger laws to bolster oversight of the sector. Australian Research Council data shows the organization has funded at least 1,500 joint projects over the past decade with China, Russia, Iran and North Korea. Science and technology research collaborations with 🇨🇳 military institutes do not necessarily attract taxpayer grants. More than 6,000 such partnerships involving Australian scientists and more than 500 involving researchers from New Zealand since 2020 have been identified; they provided a “critical vector” for China to penetrate the nations’ defense innovation ecosystems. Australian and New Zealand researchers co-authored papers with counterparts at more than 50 PLA-affiliated research institutes spanning military research bodies, state-owned defense conglomerates, and China’s “Seven Sons of National Defence” universities. In the absence of formal restrictions on collaborating with PLA-affiliated institutes, Australia’s research secrets were exposed. “These findings highlight how PRC-linked financial contributions and personnel exchanges can function as covert channels for influence, intelligence gathering, and technology transfer — often under the guise of legitimate academic collaboration.” “Far from isolated cases, they are part of a broader state-directed strategy that poses systemic risks to the Australian and New Zealand (science and technology) ecosystems. This includes the theft of intellectual property, the illicit transfer of sensitive technologies, and the erosion of top-tier talent from academic institutions, national laboratories, and private sector research organisations.” University of Queensland researcher Boyun Gu worked with counterparts at the PLA’s National University of Defence Technology and Beihang University — another top military institute — on a study to develop new anti-jamming technology for drones. Their Apr 2024 paper identified new algorithms to improve the resilience of drone positioning systems that use low-earth orbit satellites. Melbourne University researcher Shihao Huang collaborated with scientists at Harbin Engineering University — one of China’s “Seven Sons of National Defence” — on a 2024 study to improve the ability of drone submarines to track targets in complex underwater conditions. ANU researcher Boyang Zhang worked with counterparts at the PLA’s NUDT on new electronic warfare algorithms “to implement blanket jamming” on targets while minimising interference with friendly systems. Chinese collaborators are now listed on a bigger share of Australian research papers than partners from any other country. theaustralian.com.au/nation/defence…
