Bittersweet opening day this year. Congratulations to Steve Winterling on his retirement after 33 incredible years at PHSC. Steve started the baseball program and built the field for the 1992 season, coaching the team for 27 years before transitioning to Athletic Director for his last 6 years. Today’s game marks the first in program history without Steve at PHSC. It was an honor to play for Steve in 2009-2010 and to coach alongside him from 2016-2018 as an assistant. Steve is one of the best men I’ve ever been around, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. Happy retirement, Coach Winterling. Thank you for everything! @SteveWinterling

Congratulations, Tim Sims, on being inducted into the FACA Hall of Fame! I have an immense amount of respect for high school baseball coaches. The sacrifices they make year in and year out for a salary that often averages out to pennies an hour is truly incredible. Tim’s dedication to his players and the Brooksville community has changed countless lives for the better. This is a well deserved and overdue honor!
