The difference now is the people in charge are either too incapable or downright incompetent to lie about it. The ‘hide the ball’ game is over, now they are proud and emboldened enough to scream it from the rooftops.

This is where the ‘anti-woke’ movement was always heading. It was never just about ‘too many’ POC actors on TV, pronouns, rainbow flags, wheelchair access or women’s bodies. It was about upholding cis/het white supremacy by subjecting anyone and everyone who challenges it.

It’s so revealing looking at how many people in my life who were vehemently anti-trans or Terfs, now no longer subscribe to those beliefs since actually knowing a trans person in real life, and not just internet driven caricatures.
