@DHKITCH @RealJamesWoods The U.S. electoral system is driven by money & wealth. It has to be otherwise they wouldn’t have elected a sex offender/conman to the highest position. He then picks his Supreme Court and expects them to do as he says and ignore the constitution. Almost a failed state .

We never had a “right to bear arms”, James. What we do have is gun control, which makes it harder for firearms to end up in the hands of the unstable, the criminal, and the reckless. That is one reason British schoolchildren do not grow up with the same fear of being shot in class. We also have universal healthcare. You could land in the UK, have a heart attack, get an ambulance, be treated in hospital, and walk away without wrestling an insurer or checking whether your policy is “in network”. And as for power being in the hands of the people, we have elections too. Imperfect? Of course. But spare us the sermon from a country where billionaire money, opaque influence, voter suppression claims, and algorithmic propaganda flood the system every cycle. Before lecturing Britain, maybe compare the US and UK on violent crime, homicide, drug deaths, and sexual violence per capita. Britain is not standing on the edge of an abyss, James. America is just so used to living in chaos that basic public order looks like oppression to you.

When this is over, the western part of NATO will never be the same. Spain, England, France and Italy have sold us out, as they too often have a history of doing. Eastern European nations are the heart of NATO. They spend money on defense, know how to fight and love the US. France particularly deserves fault and blame. From supporting China and Russia at the UN to denying Americans overflight rights, they’re doing what they’ve always done - showing weakness, while cutting deals with terrorists. (The reason the US has a Marine Corps and Navy is unlike France, we refused to pay a ransom to the Barbary Pirates. France is always happy to cut a deal.) Wars have unintended consequences as nations show their true colors. NATO will never be the same, and Western European weakness and acquiescence is the cause.
