Coingate, a 3rd party crypto payment processor out of the EU but servicing people globally, just came out with its H1 2026 report on payments. Litecoin came in 3rd with a rise to just >18% of all payments on the platform with Bitcoin coming in at 21% and USDC at 22%. To maintain a stable population without immigration a country generally needs a fertility rate of approximately 2.1 children per woman. The current United States rate of 1.6 places the nation significantly below the level required for population replacement. The traditional pattern of motherhood in the United States is experiencing a major shift. Provisional data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that the national total fertility rate has fallen to a record low of 1.6 children per woman. This decline reflects a 23 percent drop in births since 2007 driven primarily by younger age groups. Teen birth rates have reached historic lows and women in their early 20s are having far fewer children. As a result the late 20s and early 30s are no longer the primary period for starting a family. A large portion of women in these age groups remain child free. Many women are not rejecting motherhood altogether but are instead choosing to delay it or opt for voluntary childlessness. Women aged 30 to 34 now account for the highest share of births. However the trend toward later childbearing is so strong that nearly half of women reach their early 30s without having had any children. Research from the Pew Research Center indicates that these changes stem from evolving social norms and shifting economic conditions. As the average age for beginning a family continues to rise this demographic transformation is reshaping the structure of American families and society and raising critical questions about the future of the nation's population growth.
