The elephant in the room with this group is that this is not looking like a good age group early on. There’s pretty widespread agreement about that from what I’m hearing. (It can change and that doesn’t mean this age group won’t produce some good players.)

First National 2012 camp. As always, please don’t regard these earliest camp selections too seriously. They are merely a selection of some of the best players. Some of the players left off are ridiculous omissions, but as always there are some good players selected and let’s focus on highlighting them. Here are some players I’ve seen play so far that were selected for this camp that I rate: East: Tyler Edwards and Jonathan Davis (RBNY), Hassan Sakr (FCC), Jaxon Vereen (NYCFC), Rashid Gbla (Columbus Crew) South: Mario Reyes (Orlando City), Mateo Arriaga (FC Dallas), Matias Flores (SKC) West: Sean Fields (LA Galaxy), Shemar Spivey (San Jose), Declan McDonald (RSL)

@ProspectsUsmnt Omissions INDEED!! US Soccer is not holding to their "commitment to giving every player a chance". I saw one non pro academy player cook half these players you mentioned. But they are lucky to be a part of a pro academy. Good luck to them! And great job US Soccer 🙄

US-eligibles David Jaimes (‘11), Mason Washington (‘11), Gio Zambrano (‘11), and Xavier Soria (‘11) were all called into the Mexico U-15’s to face the US. Washington is the headliner here. Better than every CB on the US squad IMO.

Don’t know the reasoning, but Fire didn’t send any players to the three ID camps either. There must be a good reason because there’s just no way they don’t have a top 240 2012 in the country.

Worth noting there are no GA Cup participants that made this camp, as the timing conflicts, so that would be players like Jaxon Vereen & Diego Roque (both NYCFC), Hassan Sakr (FCC), Jonathan David (RBNY), Matias Flores (SKC). All you’d think would be included here otherwise.

The first of (I believe) three regional USYNT ID camps of 80 2012 born players begins on Thursday. This first regional will be Western. Eastern and Central/Southern will follow. Don’t know many of these players yet, but all of Parker, McDonald, Fields, and Larson I rate.

@Don_K_Williams I guess the bigger question is: there are clubs/team doing that at that age?!?! I understand smaller clubs with only one team or limited capacity that's unfortunate reality. But bigger "platform" clubs should not practice that as they have the bandwidth to accommodate.

We just heard that a Power 4 with a LOT of verbal commits for 2026 pulled an offer from a 2026 player because "we made too many offers". The player was committed for less than a month. Ridiculous!!

What a shame that 8 weeks isn't enough @capellisport to process a kit order. All teams/clubs should look into other alternatives who appreciate the hard earned and expensive money parents pay for these services. Not to mention the poor customer service. @soccerdotcom always ❤️

There’s D1 talent scattered all over D2, D3, NAIA & JC. There is also D2, D3, NAIA level players playing D1 every season. & Unfortunately there is all kinds of levels of talent that stay home & never play in college at all because they didn’t recognize their blessings. #CSTruth

DM: I received a lot of ID Camp invites after Seattle. How can I tell what’s a generic email sent to everyone or what has real interest. -2026 Recruit #CSTruth If the first sentence in the email is “hey we watched you play at _____” followed by “we would like you to attend one of our ID camps”, it’s a generic email sent to everyone. You can tell by the wording when the email is scripted and the only thing they are doing is changing the name of the recruit. When you’re wanted, really wanted, they’ll let you know with those exact words. College coaches won’t beat around the bush with a generic camp invite making you feel “wanted” for money. They’ll let you or your club coach know you’re wanted.
