My expectations for Infinity Castle part 2:
Considering 2 year production time gap between releases and how high the IC-1 set the bar... my expectations are very high.
Firstly expecting drastic changes in script and how they approach adaptation are unrealistic.

@de_davi18072027 @RawrR44912 It’s gonna suck if they treat Douma’s fight like a sideline cuz his fight was already just a side as well before the main fight of IC1… I think Mitsuri and Obanai vs Nakime might even have crazier sequences than Douma.

@RawrR44912 It actually makes sense, but I think they’re going to sideline Douma’s story and that it won’t matter much in the movie; that’s why I’m sticking with my theory, even though I think yours makes sense too.

I’ve been re-reading the chapters and looking back at my 2024 analysis; Chapter 163 left me confused because it feels like a movie finale. I concluded that the first movie could have even ended with Douma's death, but there wasn't enough time.↓

@de_davi18072027 I’m also confused about the pacing as well. If that were to happen it’s gonna be unfair to UM 1 & 2 to share the spotlight in the 2nd movie while UM3 is the fave of movie 1, though we already saw the beginning of Douma’s fight.

Gintama spent the first 6 minutes of its new movie roasting Demon Slayer 😅 In the opening scenes, Gintoki jokes that “everywhere you look, it’s ALL Demon Slayer,” mocking how massive Infinity Castle and the franchise have become in Japan’s film market 😂 The funniest part? Gintoki literally transforms into Gyomei Himejima, which makes the joke even better because both characters share the same voice actor, Tomokazu Sugita. Classic Gintama. Instead of avoiding Demon Slayer’s popularity, they turned it into a full parody segment about Kimetsu “monopolizing” anime theaters 💀 And honestly… the fact that Demon Slayer became SO big that even Gintama built an entire opening joke around it just shows how insane the franchise’s influence really is.

It's honestly insane how, for its massive popularity, Demon Slayer has literally no wider cultural impact. No iconic poses or attacks. No timeless characters or moments. It just kinda made a lotta money and will likely fade into obscurity once the movies are done releasing.
