Last week, we successfully completed a Training of Trainers (ToT) for 6,701 Community Mentors across all 7 districts of the @LIFT_Rwanda programme. The training focused on the Alternative Learning Pathway (ALP), equipping mentors to administer literacy and numeracy diagnostics to out-of-school youth aged 15–18, and to provide targeted support in the Functional Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) skills identified as missing. Both diagnostics and FLN sessions will be delivered in safe spaces, preparing these youth for TVET placements and future excellence, while ensuring they continue to strengthen functional #Literacy and #Numeracy skills alongside their vocational training in TVET schools and centres. @Gasabo_District @KireheDistrict @RusiziDistrict @KARONGI @KarongiDistr @GakenkeDistrict @NgororeroDistr @aeerwanda @Camb_Ed @NESA_Rwanda @Rwanda_Edu

HoD for Teacher Development Management & Career Guidance and Counseling, @NMugenzi at @REBRwanda, reinforced the dual focus of RisingFaster: “Teachers should apply these strategies to improve learning outcomes.” His words highlight both basic classroom English proficiency and content mastery as essential for stronger literacy, numeracy, and exam readiness among P6 learners. #RisingFaster #KigaliEducation

Yesterday we completed a 2‑day training for 155 Primary 6 Math & English teachers across 68 schools across the @CityofKigali. The training focused on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy and boosting P6 student performance. We were honored to host @CityofKigali and @REBRwanda leadership. Vice Mayor @Urujeni1 encouraged teachers: “This is the time to start, put into practice the skills and knowledge gained, and translate them into action to improve learning outcomes for our learners.” City Education Coordinator @ericniyongabo also joined, reinforcing the City’s commitment to supporting teachers and improving student outcomes. The Education Statistics Yearbook 2024/25 is now available. It provides a comprehensive overview of Rwanda’s education system, from access and infrastructure to learning, teachers, skills development, and higher education. Today, @UKinRwanda’s #LIFT held a workshop to strengthen its partners’ voice and influence skills. Participants explored practical ways to #advocate, #influence, #engage stakeholders, and craft messages that resonate, while using #evidence and Stories of Change to drive impact.

As we continue to celebrate #Women’s Month,#LIFT held a 2 day workshop for our partner institutions,where participants gained practical skills in inclusive accountability and strengthened their capacity to integrate #GenderEquality,social & #DisabilityInclusion into their work.

Today,our 3-day #MEL workshop has concluded,We brought together MEL staff from 16 partner #organizations for a dynamic space of learning,collaboration and reflection. They explored MEL systems,tools and applied concepts which will strengthen their project MEL practices.

Today, #LIFT is delivering training for #Safeguarding Focal Points & HR staff from partner organisations to strengthen their safeguarding capacity. The session focuses on strengthening safeguarding governance,HR integration, risk & case management and safe reporting systems.

Today, Minister @JoNsengimana met with the Governor of the Eastern Province to review the current status of the education sector in the province. The meeting focused on key sector priorities and discussed concrete measures to further advance access to and quality of education across the Eastern Province. Following the meeting, the Minister conducted field visits to Groupe Scolaire Kamabuye and TTC Nyamata, both located in @BugeseraDistr At Groupe Scolaire Kamabuye, the Minister observed Primary 1, 2, and 3 learners engaging with AI-powered, tablet-based learning tools, highlighting the role of technology in enhancing early-grade learning. At TTC Nyamata, the Minister emphasized the critical role of Teacher Training Colleges, noting that they do not only prepare future teachers but also shape the next generation of Rwandans.
