Ruben Amorim had a dream to turn Manchester United into a powerhouse, but one could claim that the dream never came to light because he was surrounded mostly by those who didn’t believe in him. The result wasn’t consistent, but what was, was the attacking fluidity. No team had more expected goals and goal threats than Manchester United, and the major reasons behind the inconsistency was the backline and midfield — both areas he was planning on improving. Ever since he left (1-1 draw with Leeds), Manchester United haven’t recorded past 2.50 expected goals till date. I was terrified of how United found it easy to penetrate every defense. We didn’t hear ‘we didn’t create chances because of low block’ under Amorim. That’s fact. We all know since Solskjaer, low block teams were our undoing. Amorim was going to fix the midfield in the next transfer market, but Omar and Wilcox decided to listen to the club legends like Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and Roy Keane, who are also not in support of Michael Carrick taking the permanent job. WOW!

The Serie A title race has been declared open, shut and back open again in the meantime. Remarkably, Napoli now feel as if they are back in the mix. Friday’s 1-0 win against Cagliari was their fourth in a row. Scott McTominay scored the only goal of the game at the Unipol Domus, and received high praise from the son of Diego Maradona. I hate the fact that commentators moan when players are showboating. I like seeing players express themselves on the pitch , football is all about entertainment, showing off skills. Cherki for example has always been like that and I don’t mind players doing that. Football is all about enjoyment!

So pleased for David Moyes, smashed it at West Ham and got forced out. Came back to Everton and is continuing his legacy there and pretty much feels like he never left! What an exceptional job he has done at Everton so far. Manager of the season is a tough choice and David Moyes and Keith Andrews are both certainly up there as candidates.

Liverpool dropping points, Chelsea dropping points too. I’m a bit more pleased now that we managed to get a draw with 10 men playing against 12. I’m still annoyed but I’ll take a 6 point gap right now. Just need Villa to drop points then that would be an exceptional one. Super Michael Carrick is on course to secure us a CL place. I’m trying not to get Carricked away.
