I’m not angry, more frustrated or disappointed. Watching Wrexham past 4 years haven’t dealt with VAR, and watching Prem, Serie A, La Liga, etc VAR is annoying and inconsistent but it’s not “my team” dealing with it. So it’s frustrating to bring it into the tournament halfway through and then have the game be decided by it.

What you're wrong about is that the right decisions aren't exclusive to just Chelsea. In a fair world, even the unfair decisions get shuffled over the course of the season.

The reaction to Chelsea beating Wrexham has been genuinely bizarre. You’ve got professional pundits and fans openly calling for VAR to be scrapped, even though it intervened correctly on two occasions simply because it denied them the romantic outcome they wanted. We scream for VAR when it makes huge mistakes, but when it gets decisions right and the team people wanted to win doesn’t, suddenly the system is the problem. That kind of selective outrage is pure madness.

Back to human error, and inconsistent rulings. So it comes down to a human to decide what is checked and what is not. A different VAR a different day, and the handball gets checked. As someone watching it’s crazy to think that a person can put their fingerprints on the game whenever they want to. I understand all of your points, I do. I still think VAR is crazy inconsistent, and as I watch that game and see Chelsea get the benefit of replays, it’s hard not to question why 0 time was spent to double and triple check, by the ref as well, the handball in the box. VAR has not leveled the playing field and made the game “more fair”. If anything it’s made it more controversial for the reasons I’ve stated above. I’ve enjoyed watching the lower league games and sure, I get upset when refs make horrible decisions. But to still have questions of interpretation of rules and applying the system and certain times and not others doesn’t really solve the terrible ref problem. Just makes the game feel cheap and the watcher cheated, like last night

@larzikid @terryflewers I thought it’s about getting it right and taking the time to do so. Well only if it benefited Chelsea did that happen yesterday. I think VAR can be useful theoretically, but it’s still riddled with inconsistency and human error. I think that game is an example of those things.

@RizMan1313 @terryflewers The reason they didn’t stop the game to check if it was a handball was because they did not need to stop the game to check. They were able to check it quickly and keeping the game flowing. With the red card, the game already had stopped anyways. It’s not hard to understand
