I have to remind myself of this a lot, although replace "talking" with "thinking." I'm such an information junkie I just want to take it all in and need to make sure I'm putting it all into practice as well.

@ameetrai How do I set up the RS indicator on the top? I assume there is a YouTube tutorial since you all have excellent ones for everything, but I can't seem to find it. I've tried a few of the RS indicators, and I can't duplicate that look. Thanks!

$AMD do not trade stocks which are consistently underperforming the markets. On Oct 14, 2024, the $AMD Relative Strength Phase ended, and since the price has slid more than 30%.

Umberto Eco, who owned 50,000 books, had this to say about home libraries: “It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones. “There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion. “If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the ‘medicine closet’ and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That’s why you should always have a nutrition choice! “Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good. Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity.”

@bclund One of the more sobering parts of getting a little older is realizing that most of the types of people you held on a pedestal when you were younger (doctors, lawyers, athletes, public officials, whomever) are just as flawed (sometimes more) than anyone else!

It's funny how an anchoring bias can influence you without realizing it. I've been trading since I was 18, and whenever I had to talk to customer support at a broker about an issue, I always assumed—correctly—that they knew way more than I did about trade execution and buying power issues. Right now, I'm on a chat with @CharlesSchwab because their system is throwing an error when I try to close a buy-write position. The answers the representative keeps giving me don't make any sense. Three times they've had to "go to the trade support team to get more answers." Then it suddenly hit me—I'm now the expert. And I'm likely chatting with a 20-something who, though well-meaning, probably knows less about trade execution than I've forgotten.

Reading is good. Reading can make you a better conversationalist and neighbors will never complain that your book is too loud. Dinosaurs didn’t read. Look what happened to them.

@TJMurphy_5 I don't think I'm coming out until the main. I might even be direct buying in day 2 on the 8th, I haven't totally decided yet. If we have an overlap let's find a time to catch up for sure. I'll ping you once I finalize my plans.

LearnWPT Student Timothy "T.J." Murphy took home his 1st @WSOP Bracelet outlasting a huge field of 4,732 runners and banked an impressive $368,977 for the win. T.J. puts in the work everyday on LearnWPT.com and we are so happy to see it pay off! He’s submitted hundreds of hands to our Ask A Pro forum and trains constantly on the @WPT GTO Trainer. As a testament to his dedication T.J. has already sent hands from his Final Table to LearnWPT Instructor @rizen1020 for analysis on the Ask a Pro Forum!

In the poker world, there was an amazing streak at the World Series of Day 1 chip leaders not even cashing in the tournament for years. The same risk it takes to run up a huge stack will decimate it with equal (and sometimes greater) velocity. I've seen traders do similar things, especially with options.

Only a few people will understand and heed this warning. The same trading "method" that takes $50,000 to $500,000 in a couple months eventually takes $500,000 to zero - or less if you are using margin.

@IvanTheK @howardlindzon I mean, if it starts with "I have not read," I believe it, even if the words after were "Green Eggs and Ham".
