I dont see how this is an example of Nintendo DESTROYING physical media though because you can still buy the game on physical… with the entire game on the cartridge. Matter of fact every Nintendo 1st party game is physical and completely on the cartridge. There are game key cards from 3rd party devs, but those are no different than what we currently get with ps5 and xbox physical games… plus you can still trade them in or buy them used. What SONY is doing is literally destroying physical media by not producing any, or including a disc drive with their next console. Completely different
