@trengriffin Yes. Also, surprising addition of DAL since airlines have not been talked highly by Warren and the exit during Covid made it seem like they were done with that. And GOOGL being almost 8% of portfolio. Lots of changes in store by the new sheriff it looks.

"Berkshire also initiated a small position in Macy’s, valued at roughly $55 million at the end of the first quarter." "It would certainly be unpleasant if we were in the department store business,” Charlie Munger said. “Just think of what we avoided, Warren.”

Added to my $META position, the position hasn't been this big in a long time. The market again (similar to a few years ago) does not understand the value dynamics of $META's business, the type of accelerator that AI is for $META, the value of its own AI data center footprint, and the zero AI-disruption risk of the business. The company now trades at 18x this year's projected earnings. Ex the Reality Labs burn, you are looking at 15x earnings. Thank you again, Mr. Market!

@jukan05 They said it during the last call. Even they can’t get the allocation needed from TSMC so makes sense to explore alternatives. And Samsung and Intel are the only other options. INTC would make a lot of sense from a geopolitical perspective and have a US company as a supplier.

@ErnestWongBWM Too bad they only offer 60 monthly credits on that plan. Have contemplated upgrading to premium and pays the extra yearly fee. Would expect more and more people to use and over time get better at promting to make the most out the credits they have.

@ErnestWongBWM Agreed! Been using copilot with the MS365 family plan. It actually does what I’ve been wanting it to do since last year. You can prompt it to do things directly on the sheet and it does them. It’s going to allow people who have never used excel to do it like pros.

$GOOG CFO says capex in 2027 will increase "substantially" over 2026. Street is expecting up 10%. My take: I bet it's up 20-30% next year.

@neilcybart Just saying he reported back in 2024 that John Ternus was most likely going to be the guy. And looks like he was right.

Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) has been all over the place with wonky timing predictions and ridiculous framing. 1) Gurman was too early with the succession stuff in an attempt to stand out, drum up BS, and get disgruntled employees to talk. 2) When the Financial Times got *the* Apple CEO succession scoop, Gurman blew up. Gurman went after the FT’s Tim Bradshaw basically claiming the Financial Times got it wrong. Gurman then said no CEO transition was occurring in the near-term. 3) Let’s not forget the evidence pointing to Gurman getting played by Alan Dye and the Johnny Srouji hoopla. Gurman owes Tim Bradshaw an apology. I doubt Gurman will give one though as he’s not capable of admitting when he is wrong.

When the Financial Times reported that Apple CEO succession in early 2026 was on the table - much earlier than anyone else had said - my initial reaction was to believe the reporting. Tim Bradshaw doesn’t miss. The bigger story found with the timeline was that Apple wasn’t wanting this CEO succession story to linger out there for another year. Talk about a distraction. Instead, it’s better to announce succession planning ASAP but spread the transition out over a number of years. Cook would remain very involved. Cook’s inner circle would support the new CEO. We are talking about a very deliberate succession plan. Here’s what I wrote about Tim Cook and Apple CEO succession in November 2025: aboveavalon.com/dailypremiumup…

Big Apple Leadership News John Ternus will succeed Tim Cook as Apple CEO. Tim Cook will transition to the Apple executive chairman role. Additional details: - Official transition takes place on September 1st. - Tim Cook will continue “engaging with policymakers around the world” (i.e. Cook will continue to do a lot of the delicate political dancing for Apple). - Arthur Levinson (Apple’s non-executive chairman for the past 15 years) will transition to lead independent director. - Ternus will join Apple’s board. Big picture: No huge surprises here. It was going to be Ternus, Joz, or Deirdre O’Brien. Ternus is a supporter of Apple’s design-led culture. As I said at the time, that huge Financial Times article that came out late last year was a deliberate leak by Apple to control the narrative and establish expectations. I would expect Tim Cook to continue to play a big role for Apple going forward. Ternus will need time, and support from Apple’s SVPs, to grow into the CEO role. apple.com/newsroom/2026/…

Native Gemini subs are now 750m weekly, up from 650m in September. OpenAI is at 900m. The gap is 150m today. Six months ago it was about 300m gap. Sundar said also had a “sharp increase in usage” by each users. My take: More users, more usage by each user. $GOOG

@buccocapital 😂 remember 2025 capex guide was $75 billion initially and ended up at over $91 billion. Could be looking at $200 billion in capex this year and up more than double from 2025! Insane and hard to wrap your head around.

@BamaBonds Don’t think people at Fidelity etc. are letting themselves be rug pulled that easily. Fidelity managers with some great track records and long term investment thinking are invested in SpaceX. Same goes for a company like GOOGL, which owns a decent amount of SpaceX stock.
