@RoadsHub Great point! A Gantt chart truly tells the story of a project when you focus on the workflow, not just the timelines. Understanding how each activity connects to the next is key to proper planning and execution. Yes, I can both create and interpret them

A Gantt chart is a logical sequence of engineering activities, where each stage provides inputs for the next. To read it effectively, follow the flow of work, not just the dates. Do you know how to create/read one?

Many African countries get the Sanitary Sewer Design very wrong. Nairobi is a textbook example of the worst design, construction, and maintenance of sewer systems.

There are two major Pavement Design Methods 1. Empirical Design This is most used in the United States, developed by AASHTO. This method is based on historical performance data. It analyzes what worked in the past and assumes it will work under similar conditions. For example, AASHTO 1993 uses traffic load (ESALs), subgrade CBR, Subgrade numbers, and layer coefficients for the design of pavements. 2. Mechanistic-Empirical Design This combines mechanics (stress, strain) with empirical calibration to local conditions. It simulates how pavement layers deform or crack under traffic and climate. Helps design cost-effective pavements with longer service life.

Most young professionals think design is about tools. That’s surface-level thinking. Design is not about visuals. It’s about how you think, decide, and solve problems. It rewires you. Once you truly engage in design work, you stop being passive. You become a builder.

Autodesk Robot Professional is a solid tool for structural analysis and design. It is superior due to its interoperability with Revit for BIM Workflows. If this is your first time, this video is excellent for an interface tour.
