We need to normalise interchanging on public transport. If we increase the frequency of public transport then interchanging becomes much less of an issue. This is why spending $8bn on 50c fares is silly. Spend $8bn on ramping up frequency.

Personally find it very interesting how effectively you can make people wait for trains away from the platfrom edge - just give people a more pleasant space to wait.
