With great power comes great not having to be responsible, because no-one can hold you accountable.

Answer: this is a manifestation of internal hyperactivity — "restlessness", if you will. This is why - if you have the inattentive type of ADHD - you still very much deserve the "H" in ADHD.

What's the name of that feeling when you have a ton of free time and you don't know what to do with it, and everything you TRY to do just feels "meh"? You're not depressed or bored, but just can't find satisfaction in anything that comes to mind?? 😭

Emotional regulation is a skill that has to be learnt and practised. Kids learn from their caregivers. ADHD makes it harder to regulate emotions. And as I've learnt to actively manage my emotions, I'm starting to see that a lot of NTs don't know how to regulate their emotions.

Do not underestimate the importance of distraction when you are highly dysregulated and unable to find peace. I’m all for breath work, meditation and a pause when it works. But there are times where anxiety is so severe that whatever helps you escape for a bit is what’s needed.

Many over-explainers grew up in homes where they never knew whether to defend themselves, or hide, because both had harsh backlash. As adults, we are often over-explaining to outrun the fear of that backlash. The fear of us not making sense is tied to receiving unjust pain.

Warum ich es für besser halte, eine SCOV2-Infektion - gerade bei Kindern - zu vermeiden? Das hat verschiedene Gründe. 1/25

The weird thing about reading so much as a child and gaining a huge vocabulary from that is I can’t define a lot of the words I use, I just…know that they would fit correctly in a specific sentence? Does anyone else experience that?

*when the villain in the movie has a PhD* Viewers without a PhD: Ah, they are just saying he’s a smart villain. Makes sense. Viewers with a PhD: Ah, grad school and academia drove him to madness. Makes sense.
