@EvertonRob1 The strange thing is, back a couple hundred years it was illegal NOT to grow hemp. Before nylon her majesty's navy needed all they could get. Every farmer had to put aside a percentage of land for the growth of hemp. It's illegal status occurred when petrochemicals became vogue

@wheeliedealer It's staggering. And also a first in the world. Personally I think it's the most interesting aspect of the budget and potentially very clever. Knock on effect has potential uplift suppliers. Will have to wait and see if it works though.

This Budget Investment Allowance is pretty significant. A Company will be able to Invest in the Business and offset 130% of that sum against Profits and therefore reduce Tax payable.

OBR Forecasts have GDP growing at something like 1.7% and 1.6% in 2023 2024. That's really sluggish still and back at the anaemic levels from 2008 to C19.....

@Space_Robot1 @fundytrades Bizarrely my rent is cheaper than a mortgage for a similar sized property but I am in a very unique position. But you also have to consider that with a mortgage you are paying off principal. But if you move around a lot you have to consider the cost of buying. Lots of variables!

@fundytrades I get what you’re saying mate, I just don’t think you’re trapped? Rent can’t be double the cost a mortgage or more, which will swallow up most of a lot of people’s income. Also you’re tied to what the landlord chooses to do. They could kick you out anytime. That’s not freedom.

It’s really great news that the government want to make young ppl mortgage slaves for the rest of their lives.... nothing wrong with renting it gives you freedom and flexibility, it all goes back in the box regardless of what assets you acquire so focus on living life to the full

@EvertonRob1 I wonder if this will lead to a doubling of revenue by 2023 as Dorsey hopes (he mentioned it in a talk recently). A small survey showed that 85% of users said they would not be interested in paying for superuser content.
