🧤 ​It was certainly a surprise to see Nick Pope recalled to the starting lineup yesterday against Arsenal, despite there not being much between him and Ramsdale. ​Regardless of who starts in these final few games as we close out the season, there can be no question: Newcastle United must prioritise the goalkeeper position this summer. Finding a new, reliable number one has to be the club’s top priority. We have all seen the massive difference that a top-tier goalkeeper makes to a team’s success. Throughout this season, poor shot-stopping, questionable decision-making, walk-abouts and individual mistakes have cost us far too many points. We simply cannot afford to make the same errors again next season if we want to compete where we belong. ​Is there a specific goalkeeper you’d like to see us target in the upcoming transfer window? @Pooliemags1Ttv Ramsdale is the lesser of 2 evils. We look more comfortable playing out from the back than with Pope in nets. Apart from that id say that lineup is fairly close to our strongest at the moment.

@Bazro10 Honestly I think he's better suited to CM. He's a great RB backup when needed but prefer him in CM.

I’ve been against it as I really wanted him CM long term BUT… do we have a genuine argument for Miley to be RB long term now? Rock solid defensively, surprisingly good going forward and he can also pass & cross the ball..

Trippier news does bring up the question, if this is the beginning of many tough calls the club will make towards the squad moving forward. Many players who have contributed a lot for us, but can’t help but feel there time has come to depart (Burn, Willock, Pope etc)

@NUFCJordd TBH I think he would do well for us. Look t the amount of crosses we have got in this year - we just needed someone on the end of them. We need someone to bully defenders - he could just be that man !
