Are you a #paramedic graduate or intern with less than 12 months experience? If so, we need your voice and perspective in this important study! #paramedicine #research

30 years a #paramedic today. Gives me cause for much reflection. My thoughts go out to those I joined with & those I have met along the way, some sadly not with us anymore. Thank you for what you do and take care of yourself, your family, friends & colleagues. #paramedicine

I'm a paramedic. I have to make hard decisions sometimes. Moving into research didn't really change this. A episode of Mandalorian dropped today... So now I'm left deciding: do I watch that, or do my PhD work? 😬 #phddiaries

These orthopods are by far, the nicest, most welcoming, and most enthusiastic-to-teach surgeons that I’ve been with as a med student so far. So good #MedSchoolDiary

@gabbablabber @AnnastaciaMP What's the evidence to say that they actually don't work? I have lived in an Asian country that has a zero tolerance approach to crime (youth or adult), and the crime rate is almost non-existent. The safest place I have ever lived.

This is beyond politics. It’s about putting community safety first. Everyone deserves to feel safe in our community. That’s why we’ve introduced these new reforms to the Parliament today.

@melfields6 Hi Melissa Great to hear you enjoyed the article. Great questions & thoughts about the culture & the effects of enculturation in our industry. There are certainly some barriers to overcome. I continue to work on those issues presently so hopefully I can find some answers for you!

Some interesting themes found in this study. Questions raised, how do you change culture when it runs so deep? I feel very privileged to have worked alongside our MH specialist clinicians on our dedicated MH Co-Responder. The learnings have been invaluable ajp.paramedics.org/index.php/ajp/…

@Aidan_Baron Funny story, I nearly bit (hard) on this and then realised it was your post. Nearly fooled me with the new profile pic. Rolling hand grenades again?

Alright Twitter is on its last legs and I’m on holidays Todays controversial Question: If we could turn back time and start again, should prehospital care be a postgraduate nursing specialty rather than its own profession? (like it is in much of Europe)

@themichaelmcc Good ol Tally & O'Connor! You can't go wrong with these! These were the "bible" when I did my ECP course. I recommend them to students all the time now. Great story behind how they came to be also.

@BillLord2 "Blue sky thinking" but the ideal announcement would have been a funding and employment boost to ambulance, ED's, the broader hospital system and a plan to incentivise, train & recruit more GPs. When you have a system problem, there isn't much point only trying to fix one part.

@expensivecare @brendanWAST I agree that non-conveyance is the wrong metric but I could not disagree more with "every patient attended by a paramedic crew should be transported" This suggests that all non-pt facing systems are fool proof, which we know is not the case. Hence the role of ECP & community para

Inspired by @brendanWAST today. EMS Non-conveyance is the wrong measure. 100% of patients attended by a paramedic crew should be transported - those who don’t need transport should have already been filtered out by secondary triage. Lofty goal to aim for but I’m game! #EMS2022
