A little late to write this one up, but it has been a crazy week of breaking news. A woman we have covered extensively for animal cruelty was arrested and taken back into custody. Warning this has pretty awful details. Krystal Scott spent 30 months in federal prison for "animal crushing." As part of her current federal probation she is not allowed to have contact with animals, but police say more than a dozen were found with her and that's not all. According to the PC filed yesterday the latest investigation started on June 21st when a man called police saying Scott and two other people were abusing animals and they believed they saw blood and animal parts in a UHAUL truck in Indianapolis. The man who called police had recently found a stray German Shepherd and posted it online trying to find the owner. The man said Scott called him and claimed the dog on June 18th. The man ended up learning the person he gave the dog to was Scott who was found guilty of making graphic videos depicting the torture and graphic killings of cats and dogs in 2021. He tracked her down in the UHAUL where police found a dozen dogs and cats some in small crates filled with feces and urine with no food or water. I am summarizing a lot of the PC here but IMPD got a search warrant for the UHAUL and found parts of dead animals, bones, pelts, and hides. Through their investigation officers determined Scott and the other two suspects had been living in a homeless camp. Witnesses at the homeless camp told investigators Scott and another woman injected a dog with insulin trying to kill it and when that didn't work they both wrapped a metal rope around its neck and strangled it. He also claimed the dog was then skinned and its head removed. IMPD nor IACS officers found the dog or the remains. Right now I am working to learn where Scott is located. According to the PC she was arrested on the federal probation violation.
