Regardless of politics, can we stop disparaging the deceased? Whether from the left or right, celebrating somebody's death diminishes our shared humanity. As one currently walking this path, I promise you: there is a grieving family behind every name. We are better than that.

💰$125k RAISE- Oklahoma state superintendent Lindel Fields weighs in on the upcoming salary hike, while candidate @RobMillerOK calls the change an “insult to every hardworking teacher and support staff member who can barely afford to live here.” #oklaed #Oklahoma @OKCFOX

@wsuares @ThriceSavage @nondocmedia This decision to DOUBLE the State Superintendent salary to $250,000 is unconscionable. Our teachers are paid an average of ~$49K, yet we prioritize a raise for this state office? If elected, I pledge to DONATE the ENTIRE $125,000 increase to student scholarships and charity.

@Freedomalwys @TheCalvinCooli1 I don't recall posting anything about Christian Nationalism. If we have met, you would know I'm running to improve public education in Oklahoma. That's all. Politics are what they are, but I hope to bring people together to help our children succeed, regardless of parties.

Honestly, based on the people you surround yourself with in all the FB pictures you post I have a hard time believing your a conservative. Republican, only because it’s Oklahoma. Also, we have met, and I think you are a great dude. You are qualified which I appreciate but the very second you start using the same jargon as Jami and the other groups about Christian Nationalsim you’ve lost half the state. Ryan sucked, fine, but he was elected.

What about the other 2026 races in Oklahoma? There are other races to talk about besides the Governor Races so let's talk about them briefly Lieutenant Governor I really like Cindy Byrd. She has done a fantastic job as our Auditor. I believe she has a great plan for Lieutenant Governor. As our Auditor, she has exposed corruption and helped save taxpayers Millions. She is a watchdog for the taxpayers. She is a really nice and kind person. Do you know who isn’t a fan of her? Drummond. He has consistently clashed with her. So I think it’s safe to say he doesn’t want her for LG. Why? Because she won’t kiss his feet so you see his petty comments. Again she has a great plan for LG. Unlike other folks, she endorsed President Trump in 2023. He wants someone to be quiet and do as he says while he galavants across the country on vacation I don’t know much about Darrell Weaver or Brian Hill. I have nothing against them. I just don’t know much about them or what their plans for LG are. I really like JJ Humphrey. He gets it. Do you know about the Bigfoot Bill he proposed? The problem I think JJ has is a lack of funds to make the runoff. Attorney General First off anyone will be an upgrade over Drummond I really like Jon Echols. He is one of the nicest people you will meet. He has the backing of law enforcement and many sheriffs. He is my choice I don’t know much about Jeff Starling. He is the Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment. I am not for sure why he is running for AG State Auditor Melissa Capps is running. She is Cindy Byrd's assistant. What more needs to be said? She will be an excellent person to be the Auditor. I can’t wait to hear some fool say Well you know another person is going to run and they are based. Of course, they have no experience but they are based. Maybe some Chamber of Commerce chump runs. I am with Melissa Capps. State Superintendent We have 3 candidates running as of right now Rob Miller is only running as a Republican because it’s Oklahoma. Dr. John Cox previously ran as a Democrat. Adam Pugh is a State Senator and probably the favorite. I have no idea what his campaign logo of a military jet has to do with education. We will see if anyone jumps in. State Treasurer Todd Russ is running unopposed. He does a great job. If you want to know another reason why Drummond is a bad option read what he tried to do to Russ. It was a very strange story. Corporation Commissioner State Representative Brad Boles is running. I don’t know much about him. Justin Hornback is running again. He had good numbers in 2022 and 2024. I know him. I will probably back him. Commissioner of Labor I have no clue who Lisa Janloo is. State Rep John Pfeiffer is running and he is a RINO. State Representative Kevin West is running. He has a great record and is likely my choice. Insurance Commissioner I don’t know much about Chris Merideth. Marty Quinn a former State Senator is running. He ran for Congress in 2020. He is probably the favorite.

@Freedomalwys @TheCalvinCooli1 I find it very odd you could make judgements about a person you have never met or spoken to. But that says more about you than it does about me.

This is an excellent run down of the candidates. Rob Miller is NOT a Republican, like, at all. I can’t believe that anyone would buy what he is selling. Adam has no education experience and some of the people that surround him don’t either so it would be all political. I know he as the stomach to make conservative decisions for the state as I have watched some tough democratic women dig into him. Drummond IMO is the most terrifying of the candidates and needs to be squashed out of the race as humanly possible.

@Okie_Rancher @RobMillerOK @KnoxieLuv I was surprised he replied at all. He’s very much not active here. So for him to receive it and have a quick response was kind of surprising. His last reply to anyone was in July. 👍👍

When administrators spend time in classrooms, they are reminded how much those teachers have to plan, how much they have to manage, and how unbelievably patient they are.  Teachers are the heart and soul of every school.

@indepthwithDeon @RobMillerOK Hi Rob. I'm curious what your thoughts are on this and what you think you can bring to the position to turn this around. We've had an R supermajority as well as R Superintendent since 2011. Thanks

Republican Rob Miller is running to replace Ryan Walters as Oklahoma State Superintendent. I asked him why. “It really is watching nothing happen. He's been in office 2.5 years, and we've made zero progress whatsoever.” #education #oklaed #usa #indepthwithdeon #ryanwalters

Yes! This was Alan Moguin for me in HS: "Because you looked them in the eye and said, “I see something in you.” And meant it.

To Every Teacher About to Begin Again… There’s something sacred about this time of year. The world doesn’t pause for it—but we do. We tidy up rooms, rework bulletin boards, restock our desk drawers with things no one else even notices… all for the sake of what’s coming. And what’s coming isn’t just students—it’s opportunity. It’s impact. It’s legacy. And whether you feel ready or not, you’re about to become part of someone’s story again. It might not be obvious at first. The kid who won’t look up. The one who sighs every time you speak. The one who walks in carrying a world you’ll never fully understand. But here’s the truth: your consistency will matter more than your content. Your tone will matter more than your title. And your presence will matter more than your perfection ever could. Every year, I remind teachers of this: You are not the system. You are the exception to it. You’re the one who turns test-takers into risk-takers. Who sees the child before the checklist. Who shows up—even when it feels like no one notices you do. And if this year feels heavy, don’t forget—some kids are walking through your doors needing one adult to believe in them. Just one. Not because you have all the answers, but because you looked them in the eye and said, “I see something in you.” And meant it. That’s the kind of teaching that outlasts standards. The kind that can’t be measured… but will never be forgotten. So as you step into a new year, remember this: You don’t need to be perfect. Just present. You don’t need a magic lesson. Just a moment that makes a kid feel seen. You don’t need to save the world. Just reach the one in front of you. Because that’s how the world changes anyway. Thank you—for everything you give to children who aren’t even your own. The world doesn’t thank you nearly enough. But I see you. And I’m grateful. Let’s go make it count. —Brad

@roachmd23 Regrettably, the primary election is not until June 16, 2026, followed by the general election in November 2026. We have 17 more months of this nonsense to endure.

As the recently retired superintendent of Bixby Public Schools, I can attest that eliminating every administrative position in the district would not adequately fund Supt Walters' mandate, which could cost upwards of $5 million annually in Bixby alone.

Want better outcomes? Start with the one factor no one wants to talk about: Teacher morale. Because the emotional health of the classroom always starts with the adult standing in front of the students sitting in it.

Teachers and administrators aren’t leaving because the job is too hard. They’re leaving because the unrealistic pressures of society keep growing, while support and respect keep fading. It’s not the job that’s unsustainable. It’s the culture we’ve built around it.
