Absolutely delighted to be among esteemed colleagues and our paper (bit.ly/3B1DEVf) to be shortlisted for the prestigious Marie and Jack Shapiro Prize by the @BritishTinnitus !
NIHR Nottingham BRC@NottmBRC

Great to see the shortlist for the 2021 Marie and Jack Shapiro Prize, for the research paper by a UK-based author most likely to result in improved treatment or public awareness of #tinnitus. Includes a strong showing from our @hearingnihr researchers! ow.ly/fqea50FUZBP

Hearing with only one ear difficult? Agree. See the impact it can have on wellbeing we found in @uk_biobank. Thanks team! @mark_ej @PiersDawes @KevinJMunro DaveMoore @DMListeningLab @padraig_hearing @NottmBRC @ManchesterBRC @Macquarie_Uni @CincyChildrens bit.ly/2KveAAk

Do we really need 520 different outcome domains & 344 unique outcome instruments to prove that hearing with two ears is better than with one ear alone?! Recommend the @CROSSSD_ team's systematic review of studies investigating interventions for single-sided deafness #SSD
CROSSSD study@CROSSSD_

Systematic review of outcome domains and instruments reported by studies that evaluated rerouting / restoring interventions for #SSD in adults @hearingnihr >Findings emphasise the need to improve trial design and reporting in this area of health research trialsjournal.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

Replying to @DrDavidBaguley and @hearingnihr Great event and stimulating discussions! Some encouraging data and interesting new studies in the pipeline. But also highlighting there's more work to be done for patients with #cochlearimplants + #tinnitus !
David Baguley@DrDavidBaguley

I enjoyed being opening speaker in seminar on #cochlearimplants + #tinnitus on #InternationalCochlearImplantDay. 575 Audiologists from 43 countries. If each tries harder now to help 2 patients a month for a year 13,800 benefit. @RobPierzycki speaking also. @hearingnihr
