most Americans make 60k per year. And they are comfortable with that. We run a service that helps people move to Thailand so we have a good idea of what hundreds and hundreds of customers budgets are based on what they ask us. A nice one bedroom condo is about 600-800 usd in a nice area of town that’s close to everything. I know so many expats here that life a nice middle class life in Thailand on a modest budget. I’m telling you.. the sweet spot is ~3k usd

In case anyone fell for this, I can confirm it is completely false 🚫 Went to Thailand recently and while food and massages are very cheap…. A luxury condo eats your entire $5k/month It’s an interesting economy that is very polarized. You can live very cheap, but those are conditions nobody would stand for in the 🇺🇸 And even in the rich/ex-pat communities you can’t even drink the tap water without getting sick Really fun spot to visit, but you don’t want to live there Will this be the next account to get de-monetized for posting slop?
Documenting Saylor@saylordocs

$5,000/month USD is around $155,000/month in Thailand. That’s luxury condo, daily massages, great food, zero stress. You’re not rich in the West… but you live like a king in Thailand. Now you understand why people are moving there.

@RobSats Fyi Overinflated prices are around Asok and Nana because they know people are dumb and pay. 10-15 minutes away with the train it drops by half. It is as always about location. But no one wants to live in those areas long term. If she's even in Bangkok.

The key is what you view as comfortable. The vast majority of 🇺🇸 folks would not be comfortable even on a 10k/month budget. If you want the nicer things that Americans enjoy you gotta pay up. If you are ok with street food and cracks in the foundation of your house that’s another story Curious, do you work there? Biggest obstacle to me is people get such low wages

@RobSats Live here for 7 years. You can live at any budget in Thailand. For a “comfortable life” you need about $3k per month. Good place. And you don’t think about expenses.

@NotionMolly What part are you in? Where I was in Bangkok and Phuket was not cheap. Next time I’d like to visit some more rural areas

@RobSats Gahh click bait from them! It is not hard to spend 5k a month especially if you’re eating out and getting massages and doing a few activities. But I guess that’s even more in the west? I don’t know I’ve been in Thailand the last six years…

@THBitcoinBuddha My sister lives in an expat building bro. I literally went through all the expenses. Where you live is not luxury.

@RobSats Here for 15 years. I would say I know the market better than you so his post is completely true. Unless your min luxury limit is a 3000 ft condo in a high floor skyscraper with your own pool on the balcony.

IMO: This is how the game theory plays out - US military engagement in the Middle East fails to achieve rapid decisive victory - the Strait of Hormuz experiences extended operational disruption - oil prices spike - petrodollar recycling mechanism comes under stress - foreign central banks reduce US Treasury holdings - US borrowing costs rise - Fed responds with significant balance sheet expansion - global liquidity expands significantly - Bitcoin as the most sensitive asset to liquidity with a finite supply absorbs a disproportionate share of that impulse This is forced monetary expansion.

@JM_speakss Of course he won’t do either. But he’s more likely to raise than cut and these bitcoin normies don’t get it

Oil is ripping. Inflation is re-accelerating. And people are still waiting for Powell to cut? 🤡 There is zero urgency to ease in this environment. If anything… the next surprise isn’t a cut. It’s a hike. Markets are positioned for relief. They might get pain instead. Powell is warming up for his victory over Trump dance Will you be happy when he’s gone?

@HodlFlorida Maybe, but only 1 fed member wants to cut and he’s still politicking to be the next chair. Bitcoiners are a bit delusional on this tbh

No the Fed is NOT cutting rates again. What a gig they have. Do nothing for 3 months then come out and say “I think we need 3 more months of doing nothing” 😂 what a joke
