Trump just said what I said Friday: the other side never claps for the other team, advertising to the world that the state of our nation is HOPELESSLY DIVIDED.

@amato_mike @SteveGillis78 Canada hasn’t produced an elite goalie for a while now. Nobody on the level of a Price, Brodeur, Balfour, and the list goes on. I don’t know what the problem is. Development coaching? I’m not sure.

@SteveGillis78 That's a big part of my point. It's rare that Canada comes out on the losing end of a goaltending battle. Or they lose a game they dominate. Part of being a good team is finding a way to win when you aren't at your best. USA's PK was massive today, too.

Some final Olympic thoughts on Canada: Typically when Canada loses in a best-on-best (which is very rare) it's usually because of their own doing. They didn't play well enough, made too many mistakes, etc. But I don't think you can finger point this time. Are there parts of the roster you can quibble with? Sure. It's impossible for everyone to agree with every player chosen. I personally would've taken one of Scheifele or Bedard and Schaefer, but that's not why they lost. I also think they should've tried to build a line around McDavid, a line around MacKinnon and a line around Celebrini when Crosby went down to give them more balance. But again, that's not why they lost. They played great in the gold medal game and ran into Hellebuyck's best career game. The biggest takeaway from these Olympics should be that Canada lost to a team equally as good or arguably better in a couple of areas. Canada is still producing the most elite players in the world, with three of the best on their top line, but the rest of the world, and especially the US, has caught up. Sometimes these losses are easier to digest when there's a glaring area that came up short. It can be tougher to process when there's not much Canada could've done differently.

@FreedomFulton @AwakenedOutlaw Western Canadians are more conservative and pro-USA than their eastern counterparts, generally. However, our electoral system drastically favours the eastern provinces, so that most elections are decided east of the Ontario/Manitoba border. Eastern Canadians are more leftist.

Two gold medal hockey games (Men's and Women's) pitting the USA vs. Canada both ended in OT losses for our friends to the North. Americans are largely thrilled about the victories, because of course they are. That's how international competitions like the Olympics work. But it's still not as big of a deal here and will rapidly move into yesterday's news. On the other hand, we have our Canadian friends. They're gutted...and not just b/c of the outcome of the game. Not saying that part didn't hurt b/c, of course, it did. But we can't talk about this without considering the other side of the coin. See, to many of them these outcomes represent a loss to Trump and the MAGA faithful...neither of whom are their enemies, I might add. This rage pretty much only exists on one direction. Ultimately, these TDS-addled Canuck's who loathe Trump with a white-hot passion needed this victory to really stick it to him. Which means the loss is much deeper than having just lost to the USA on the ice. The repercussions are akin to a near-fatal soul wound for many.

@HawkeyeBeliever @zettzilla “Multiple angles”. There was one angle showing a possible infraction. It could not be determined from that angle that the stone had been touched for sure. No penalty was imposed.

@zettzilla Intentionally committing an infraction repeatedly is known as cheating Announcing to the world on camera that “you didn’t do it” when there are multiple angles showing you did That’s just poor integrity and poor sportsmanship Two things Canadians use to take pride in

@Pritzkersgunt @bcbluecon Like I said, no knowledge of curling. The touch had no chance of impacting speed, direction or rotation of the stone. Purely because of a 50 pound stone. To compare that with a 4 ounce golf ball is asinine. Suck on your own “deez”.

@RobScarthCattle @bcbluecon Well hello fellow retard bc there’s virtually zero friction with that stone and the ice so his little bump is getting a second chance at steering the stone. Just like if you see your putt line is off. So here’s “deez” for you.

Grew up watching curling on TV. Old school sweaters and fat guys era. I've also watched The Brier and other national/international curling championships live. Partied my ass off at 'The Patch'. No way what Marc Kennedy did was legal. Knew damn well what he was doing. Manipulating the spin of the rock.

@Pritzkersgunt @bcbluecon Retarded take with obviously no knowledge of curling. A finger touch can manipulate a 50 pound stone? Go try to push one with one finger on the ice. Good luck with that.

@bcbluecon Same people justifying it as a big nothing. Ask them if it’s ok to nudge a putt with your putter again after you tap the ball. Thats what he’s doing to the rock. It’s egregious cheating

@js1212583327 @Devin_Heroux People attacking Canada over this and calling them “cheaters”, while excusing the fact that Sweden illegally filmed the event in question, thereby “cheating”, is a little ludicrous.

@Devin_Heroux It doesn't matter. Grazing the stone while removing your hand does nothing. This is just silly and childish tactics from sore losers. Ignore it and carry on..

World Curling has communicated "it is not possible" to have umpires observing all hog lines for every stone delivery. Two officials move between the four games. I've asked World Curling how they're determining who to watch and when. Will report back when I get a response.

@kevman417 @bcbluecon It doesn’t. That touch was incidental and would not have changed the speed or trajectory of the stone. Anyone claiming differently does not know anything about curling.

Marc Kennedy knew where the Olympic cameras recorded fouls. These cameras don't see his kind of curling rule breaking. The Swedes knew too. So they set up a camera to embarrass Canada. Love it.

@PifflesPod Totally off topic. With ford now being released if Jake Maier is on this team instead of a young Canadian who if you guys still believe in Lokombo I get to Believe ford is a good CFL QB with horrible coaching. You have to sign him. Hes a ratio breaker and if he turns out??

According to the #CFL Transaction page, #Riders DB Marcus Sayles was "added" to the roster yesterday. Usually with a contract re-structure, they also list the player as "deleted" (Jameer Thurman was listed that way), but that isn't the case.
