A company could release an environmental and sustainability report, but it would, at best, be read by a few people. Or, as Apple does here, it could understand the very point of releasing such a report—to convey to the broader audience, in an easily comprehensible manner, what the company is doing in terms of its responsibility towards nature and the environment—and do a very different kind of communication! The framing (of whom Apple is "reporting" the updates to), the choice of the actor (Octavia Spencer), the articulation of the numbers in ways that even a child could understand the magnitude and impact of what Apple has been doing, the kind of targets committed within the narrative, and the way Tim Cook conceded that they still have a lot more to do... everything about the scripting is pitch-perfect!
