@Gsy_Spurs @Guernsey_FA @NorthAC1892 Good luck mate. I’m unfortunately missing it as we are hosting the IOM, albeit more likey rain dodging tomorrow! Hopefully the Corbet Field provides a good backdrop to another Guernsey win!

@Magpie24_7 Struggling a bit with this take - the ref didn’t give a penalty on Palmer, nor did VAR. So they got it spot on?

The dust has settled at Stamford Bridge, and while the 1-0 win shows the world that this Newcastle United squad has more heart in its little finger than the 'billion-pound bottle jobs' combined, we need to talk about the absolute circus act refereeing the game and the clown in the opposition dugout. Once again, we find ourselves dissecting a performance from the officials that didn't just border on incompetent—it felt like a scripted episode of "Look After the Big Six." Let’s start with the laughable attempt by Cole Palmer to buy a penalty. It was a staggering display of desperation from a player who spent more time looking for the turf than he did for the back of the net. The fact that he was even entertaining the idea of a spot-kick after treading on Nick Woltemade’s foot is a joke. It’s the kind of modern 'gamesmanship' or cheating as I call it, that’s rotting the sport, yet we see it week in and week out. If that’s a penalty in today’s game, then the rules have officially left the building. But the real kicker—the one that really boils the blood—is the Malick Thiaw incident. How on earth Reece James is allowed to literally wrestle a man to the floor in the penalty area and walk away without a care in the world is beyond me. Thiaw was completely taken out of the play, hauled down like he was in the middle of a rugby scrum, and yet Paul Tierney and the VAR crew apparently decided that 'wrestling' is now a legal defensive maneuver as long as you're wearing a blue shirt. We’ve seen these given against us for far less, and the lack of consistency is becoming a tired, pathetic narrative that we are forced to swallow. Then we get to the post-match comments from the Chelsea camp. To hear their manager—who is quite clearly feeling the heat of a failing project—try to justify these calls or act like his side were hard done by is absolutely laughable. It reeks of a man who is under immense pressure and is desperately grasping at straws to distract from the fact that his team got outworked, outplayed, and outclassed by a more disciplined Newcastle side. It’s weak, it’s transparent, and it’s the hallmark of a manager who knows the clock is ticking. We aren't asking for favours; we’re just asking for a level playing field. But as long as the 'cartel' clubs get these soft decisions while our players get mauled in the box without a whistle, the sense of injustice will only grow. We won despite the officials, but we shouldn't have to play against twelve men every single week! Rosenior is bang out of order here: "If Paul had focused more on his job, which was to make the right decision, we have a penalty today. I don't think anybody in this room can say that Woltemade doesn't kick Palmer down in the box" The bloke is cringey as, and is living on borrowed time already! To me it's just deflection and excuse making - the better team won at Stamford Bridge! #NUFC #NUFCNews #Newcastle #EPL #Chelsea

@JLPerchard @icc_europe I agree with that approach if it’s not deemed too late to adjust the groups (I know Group A teams have already had travel quotes approved).

@JLPerchard @icc_europe It depends on how many SRQ qualification spots they award. No problem Scotland getting a bye if you then do 2 qualifiers from Group A and C and just the one from B. That’s the only way you can make it fair without having to re-draw/re-allocate?

@RobThomson1987 @icc_europe Ok fair enough Rob. This doesn’t affect Jersey but are Guernsey conten,t as I see an argument for them to move to group B ?

@BdJcricket Either way it’s a bit of a mess given they’ve already seeded and drawn the three groups. If the USA make the Super 8’s it makes it even trickier!

@RobThomson1987 NED, ITA, SCO plus 3 SRQ winners gives six. Two up from each qualifier could get you to nine now I guess if you wanted to do the same format as Asia-EAP did last time. Not sure you would though. 2-2-1 from SRQs seems lopsided and contrived. And unfair the rest of SRQB.

Still not totally officially confirmed that Scotland are now getting a bye to the Euro T20Q Regional Finals, but fair to say they don't expect to be attending their scheduled Sub-Regional at Copenhagen in July. Pretty safe to say now they're getting a bye.
