Omg the actual Taylor of “Taylor ham” was a NJ state senator...he was South Jersey-based, gotta say, tho it hurts as a northern- pro- “Taylor ham” person- it may give more weight to the south Jersey “its pork roll” side. @NJGov

Today in New Jersey history: February 10, 1909: NJ State Senator John Taylor of Trenton died. He was the inventor of the compressed meat product called “Taylor Pork Roll” or “Taylor Ham” in various areas of the state used in the iconic NJ breakfast sandwich.
