My Easter sermon: What is redemption? It’s not just a religious idea. It’s about addressing guilt and recovering or rebuilding your self-esteem. It requires that you deal with guilt  -  whether earned or unearned  -  by identifying its cause and working to correct it. This is how you reestablish your sense of worthiness, which is fundamental to your sense of your own value. Yes, there are some mistakes that can’t be corrected, but doing what you can  -  and coming to terms with what you can’t  - is the only way to restore any lost connection to your capacity to value, including your capacity to experience your value. It requires that you use your mind  -  which is why it’s not just a religious idea.

A new intellectual arena is opening for those aged 16 to 22. It’s for those: * Curious enough to question the status quo * Disciplined enough to follow the evidence rigorously * Courageous enough to examine controversial truths * Driven enough to compete at the highest intellectual level It will challenge young minds to think deeper, argue better, and prove that their ideas can withstand real scrutiny. Winners will walk away with big prizes and incredible opportunities. If you’re capable of confidently ranging off the beaten mental track, then throw your hat in the ring—put your name on the list. It’s amazing that this even needs to be said in 2026, but the collapse of communism was a good thing:

Iran, the Soviets, and the Illusion of Evil’s Strength Is evil powerful? @elanjourno and Onkar Ghate discuss Ayn Rand’s view of evil as fundamentally impotent, and what it reveals about Soviet Russia, Iran, and the failures of American foreign policy.

Fewer women are dying due to pregnancy or childbirth than ever before. In 1985, ~600,000 mothers died globally each year. By 2023, that number had fallen to ~250,000; a drop of nearly 60%.

Contribution to Russia and the occupied ‘republics’: 20 million dead (minimum), a civil war, two man-made famines, the Great Terror, deportations, collective responsibility, minority prosecutions, Gulags.
