Sort of liking beauty in urbanism vs. finding the people who really like beauty in urbanism extremely tedious and naive vs. liking bad brutalism and nineties architecture to own the trads. Tough.

The plan is working.

Why does it matter? Well 'energy generation' is something we're distant from, we can't readily effect the % of the grid that's renewables ourselves. But transport is something we can affect in our own lives - choosing the bike over the car, or the train over a plane.

But it's been wrong for a while now. Transport had already over-taken power as the UK's leading source of emissions by 2015 - so this info that's ranking top on Google has been wrong for 7 years!

Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them.

I typically find "we shouldn't build Nuclear power, a tram in Leeds, electric railways because by the time it's done in fifteen years they'll be outdated by even cheaper renewables, electric bikes, hydrogen trains etc..." arguments pretty unconvincing. Because,... that's ace.

@scotthill222 @thomasforth Solar doesn't need that much metal, polysilicon production is the main bottleneck. Silicon is the 3rd most abundant element on earth, right after Oxygen. We won't be running out of silicon.
