@vurnt22 I was invited to test drive that exact mascis rig once during soundcheck but without earplugs it was too loud for me to turn the gtr’s volume knob up past 2. I shut it down after 10 seconds saying ”I can’t do it!” That fender at the face was way too intense.

Dinosaur Jr. was unfathomably loud. J.Mascis’s setup, with a vintage Fender Twin facing him at the same level as his face as an additional… monitor? Is hands down the most gnarly I ‘ve ever seen. The LOUDEST show goes to Eminem at the Meadowlands, NJ. Nothing. Else. Comes. CLOSE

The only other time I’ve been this impressed w an actor’s physical transformation was Christian Bale in Vice. Colin Farrell as the Penguin is pretty mind blowing. Even though you can see it’s make-up he just seems like a different person. Maybe Gary Oldman in True Romance, but you could still see it was him. I’m not talking about just acting like a different person, I mean looking AND acting like a completely different person. When you can’t tell the actor without reading the credits. Am I forgetting any other examples?
