Crikey! It's like shelling peas for @robbiewilders as 22-1 shot Grozni adds to his weekend winners following on from Twig yesterday. Amazing tipping - and he is in your @RPWeekender every week.

Long tweet into the mess of Chelsea’s January transfer window so far :
#CFC are 22 days into the window and have not addressed the main issue, striker. Chelsea need a box striker who is good in the air due to the high volume of crosses under Maresca, especially against low blocks. Chelsea have drawn 7 games this season and main striker Nicolas Jackson struggles against certain types of opposition.
If you can’t get your top targets, the club could look for a low cost option. One of the best value signings Chelsea ever made was Olivier Giroud, but they refuse to look at this avenue.
Chelsea have out-priced current 2nd choice option Christopher Nkunku, who does not fit into the way Enzo Maresca wants to play upfront with the high pressing, whilst the number 10 options are blocked.
Despite having Lesley Ugochuwku and Andrey Santos on loan, Chelsea directors have still not called either back, and are instead more interested in bringing in a midfielder on loan when we have options that we own, or potentially they could even neglecting this area.
🏥 Romeo Lavia is out AGAIN for several weeks, Enzo Fernandez is showing first signs of muscular issues due to being overplayed and most importantly, Caicedo’s fitness is being risked with, starting all 22/22 Premier League games.
Potential midfield cover options such as Renato Veiga, Cesare Casadei, Dewsbury Hall and Chukwuemeka have all been on the shop market this window. Veiga has only just left, caving into a loan after reportedly asking for a permanent transfer.
So with all this being said, instead of addressing the two most important areas, what are they doing instead, you may wonder?
They are Targeting Alejandro Garnacho and other young wingers. None of which solve our goal scoring issue from wide areas, which has become prevalent after they spent over £100m on new wingers this summer.
In isolation, Neto and Sancho are talented, but all 3 of our current fit first team wingers do not own a consistent goal threat, how does Garnacho fix or other fix this?.
Garnacho’s last 3 PL seasons : 19 games, 3 goals, 36 games, 7 goals. 21 games, 3 goals.
🤦 They also called back Trevoh Chalobah after tons of pathetic briefs last summer suggesting that he could not play in Enzo Maresca’s system. They banished him from the facilities and took his shirt number off him and forced him out.
Chalobah then got called back months later because the directors were desperate for an option after injuries and underperformance from Disasi and Badiashile, who they wrongly rated ahead of him.
It is not just the allocation of funds and priorities that they have got wrong, or the slow outgoing business…
💰 95% of reliable reports this window suggest the directors lack pre planning and are instead working on a PSR basis with opportunities, often trying to work out a “1 for 1” deal, like we did with Maatsen and Omari Kellyman, and Felix and Gallagher.
👎🏻☀️ 3 signings made from the summer for a total of around £80m (Felix, KDH, Veiga) are all now on the market just a few months later. This raises questions on the reasons behind these signings.
From the planning, to the targets to the prioritisation of positions, the slow sales, the fact that summer targets are on the market in January and the neglection of what everyone else in the world can seemingly see we lack, this window has been a disaster so far. I didn’t even delve into GK…
I hope this tweet will be irrelevant in a few days time and the directors will have changed the course of the feeling of this window as I have never seen a fanbase in such unison towards a transfer window.
