@Robbo63 Hi Bob, sounds as though you are in Japan. Will need to tap you up on this later. Enjoy your trip👍

@LeeEvansBirding Yes very sad Lee. He remained on the London committee right up until his passing. Don’t know exactly when he joined but possibly pre 1975!

@keelebirder The wine hotel does some really good quality stuff - no point in going for the dirt cheap stuff there but was really pleasant. We had a complete blackout & no internet so no full picture of what was happening and the tragic death toll

@WiWildlife @RareBirdAlertUK No sign today? We had 2 Swallows last Xmas in Co Down NI must check if there are any photos!

@WiseBirding Swifts can be a bugger - Dominic Mitchell tells me of seeing a Swift in Highgate in 1975 - odds on a Pallid! Must be the most recorded bird in the London area not on the list!

Relocated the Swift again a couple of times briefly this morning but only managed v poor photos. Severely pushing the limit on lighting edits! One sharpened the other not. Certainly Pallid features, but not sure you can really trust the poor image? 🤷♂️

Exciting & frustrating! 😮Returned home from Namibia this AM and find a Common/Pallid Swift on the patch this PM (3.20pm - 4.20pm) over Otter Estuary NR. Brief views appalling light & distance didn’t allow photos or much help with id features.🙄Fingers crossed it returns tomorrow
