"Do you feel comfortable with that sort of approach from Nick Timothy?" "No." Sir Andy Street, former Conservative West Midlands Mayor, responds to the Shadow Justice Secretary describing a mass Muslim public prayer in Trafalgar Square as an "act of domination". #Newsnight

Too many are too polite to say this. Prejudice should not be tolerated in our Party, even under the guise of defending invented "British Values".

8 Reform MPs. Not a single one could be bothered to turn up and vote for our motion to stop Labour’s planned fuel duty hike. All talk. No action.

Sadiq Khan tells La Repubblica that Labour should campaign to “rejoin the European Union” at the next election. Boldest intervention by any UK politician to date and this debate will now run and run.

Too many are too polite to say this. But mass ritual prayer in public places is an act of domination. The adhan - which declares there is no god but allah and Muhammad is his messenger - is, when called in a public place, a declaration of domination. Perform these rituals in mosques if you wish. But they are not welcome in our public places and shared institutions. And given their explicit repudiation of Christianity they certainly do not belong in our churches and cathedrals. I am not suggesting everybody at Trafalgar Square last night is an Islamist. But the domination of public places is straight from the Islamist playbook. Trafalgar Square belongs to all of us. It is a national memorial to our independence and our salvation. Last night was not like a televised football match or a St Patrick’s Day celebration. It was an act of domination and therefore division. It shouldn’t happen again.

Latest YouGov Westminster voting intention (15-16 March 2026) Reform UK: 25% (+2 from 9-10 Mar) Greens: 19% (=) Conservatives: 17% (-2) Labour: 17% (=) Lib Dems: 14% (=) Our methodology is unchanged

I’m Keir Starmer’s biggest critic, but the war of words coming from the White House is childish.

Cllr George Finch wins his vote of no confidence in Warwickshire. It was a surprise to see the defeated Green Party motion wasn’t written in Urdu.

Keir Starmer never explicitly answers the drugs question. He heavily implies he used them while at university. Almost every senior Tory admitted to taking drugs at some point. All around the world the stories are the same. And yet the failed consensus on drug policy persists, where liberal elites use them with impunity - and we imprison poor people for doing the same. It’s a system that is beyond messed up the world over.

🚨CAMPAIGN WIN @LibDems conference voted for our proposals to tackle the driving tests crisis, making Liberal Democrats the only party with a specific policy on the issue 🏎️ We will continue to champion a fair deal for all young drivers

Have you ever watched reality television show ‘Snog Marry Avoid’? I asked @grok to do a POD style makeunder, and dress Hannah Spencer in a simple white blouse and black pencil skirt, and smarten up her hair. Anyone who thinks her presentation is irrelevant should take a look. She dresses like a child for a reason. That concerns me.

Wow. Never imagined that Ed Davey and I would agree on anything but there are some decisions which are just plain idiotic. And this is one of them.
