Highlight of today's grading is a new concept of making a "Bias before and after mind map." in their case about elderly. The idea is to pro-actively confront and remind the designer of whatever pre-existing connotations they have and reconsider those after the empathize phase.

Really weird find today, we were planning a holiday to Cuba but apparently "someone" in early January 2021 decided that the right to an ESTA Visa Waiver for US should be withdrawn if someone visits this country. As we visited US and like to in the future, seems Cuba is cancelled.

A recent example of this potential can be found in the recent Super Mario Wonder with its neat Live Shadow Player feature which shows ghosts of other players that can be assistive and point to interesting areas.

@acagamic I once got the advice to block a certain amount of time per week, never managed, hard to say no to fun things but good to put this on our minds. The person that gave the advice also didn't manage to do this. I do notice that social pressure to write together helps a lot for this.

I'm swamped with lectures and endless emails. I know you're trying to steal moments to write, too. It's a juggling act for me: Teaching, Admin, Research. But the thrill I feel when that paper gets published? Priceless. 🕒 There's never ever enough time in the day. 🕒 Grading and meetings eat into writing time. 🕒 Course prep is a constant distraction. We can find all sorts of productivity hacks, but unless you make the time, your paper just remains a draft. Don't think I've mastered it. I'm still figuring this out, too. So, this is my heartfelt shout-out to all academics. Tenured professors. Adjuncts. Grad students juggling their TA duties. Industry researchers buried in data. Anyone working their ass off to write about research anywhere for any reason. 📚 Finding that you time means more publications. 📚 A smoother tenure track or career. 📚 Increased academic visibility. Let's steal those moments back for writing. They're our time. Together, we'll turn them into impactful papers. Let's do this, my friends.
