@smriiis_reading If you're that fixated on counting, maybe you should take up mathematics instead of reading.

reading short books doesn't count, reading fiction doesn't count, audiobooks don't count, reading fast doesn't count. reading doesn't count, you need to chew and eat every page of the book to be considered a “real reader”... real readers tattoo the entire text on their body!!!

@AJLinnemeyer I've been a published author for over 50 years, and I've never had an agent. It's not easy, but you can do it if writing is important enough to you.

My new WIP has a fantastically commercial concept and I’m absolutely in love with it. I found the character’s voice quickly. Outlining it has been easy. And yet I’m struggling to write. After getting and losing an agent this year, imposter syndrome is killing my motivation🥲

There’s this misconception that to be an author, you have to write 1,000 words every single day. The reality is that the average person with a job and a family just can’t do that. And honestly? I don't expect that of you. I certainly can't do it!

No system of government can survive, in the long term, that fails to take into account the deep human propensity for greed.
