@zola_254 True! - still, I wouldn’t mind if he wasn’t available.😉But let’s get past Sporting Lisbon first.

So we've wasted billions & risked a global catastrophe to replace Khamenei with Khamenei, turning the father into a martyr, rally Islamic Republic's base, and force the system to elect a wartime successor—the more hardline, anti-Western son likely to be consumed with avanging the death of his entire family.
Thanks to Operation Epic Failure, the Iranian regime has proven its resilience to the world, and is more entrenched, radicalized, and securitized today than it was last month.
What's worse, this was all predicted by realist thinkers, Iran experts, and US intelligence. The Trump admin chose to ignore our advice and listen to Lindsey Graham and Mark Levin instead. Great job to all involved.
For more in depth take, read my piece @unherd where I predicted all this: unherd.com/2026/03/danger…

@Arsenal_rep1 Kepa. He seems perfectly competent to me and I think it's only fair that he gets to go all the way in the competition.

@rizzleperizzle @RadioFreeTom I presume by “we” you mean the US? But how could the US “lose big” by hitting the Islamic Republic? Surely, the worst that could feasibly happen for the US is that the Iranian Islamic Regime clings to power but their military forces are depleted further.
English

@RadioFreeTom The only thing I know for sure is a gambler who will keep rolling the dice until we lose big.

@jaydyer Israel 🇮🇱 supporting political forces in the region that are in its national interest is not the same as sovereignty in those countries. You gestured at this truth but then returned to the false claim that Israel seeks a Greater Israel incorporating Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, etc.

Sir Roger Penrose argues that current AI is a misnomer because it lacks the one ingredient essential for true intelligence: Understanding.
By applying the lens of mathematical logic, he explains that while machines are masters of following rules, the ability to understand why those rules work is a non-computational process. To Penrose, the leap from calculation to comprehension requires more than just better code; it requires Consciousness.
At the fundamental level, intelligence isn't just data processing; it's the conscious awareness that gives meaning to the math.

@ZackOzbro @Brit_Aus_Com The thing to remember about the Australian character is that we are not only descended from convicts but also from warders.
English

@Brit_Aus_Com “Your ancestors were criminals” is only relevant in diagnosing the convict mentality that all Australians are afflicted with. The fact that we have the most repressive laws against free speech is entirely a consequence of this mentality.
English

“Your ancestors were criminals” is such a pathetic smear attempt.
Ignoring the fact that many convicts were guilty of crimes of desperation, they were often selected for skills which would benefit the colony. Not to mention free settlers outnumbered convicts in 1828, per the first census.
More to the point, our ‘criminal’ ancestors managed to create a first world nation from scratch, on the other side of the globe, in record time.
What’s your excuse?
English

@RitaPanahi @BMAU000 Deeply sinister. “How do you deal with [falsehoods]?”Oh I don't know, maybe by permitting well informed people to freely discuss and debate things?

Queen of performative caring. She's awful & what she did to NZ was appalling.
Dinesh D'Souza@DineshDSouza
Former New Zealand prime minister Jacinda Ardern insists we should give up free speech—which she calls a “weapon of war”—to leaders like her so they can teach us exactly what to think about war, climate change and other issues. This is the rhetoric of tyranny, all dressed up.

@only1tommo Champions League. It's a gap in the Arsenal trophy cabinet that needs to be filled.
