@markcstory Mark, I'm very sorry to hear about Frank, a fellow Glaswegian. As someone who was a prep sports reporter down in Alabama for about a dozen years, I can definitely say that Frank's website was far better than almost any other state association's recordkeeping, especially MaxPreps.

Hard to overstate the value that the KHSAA scoreboard & its archives that Frank Riherd created have had on sports in Kentucky. To say that it is a remarkable resource is a severe understatement. It should be a high-level priority to figure out how to keep scoreboard running.

Frank Riherd announced on Saturday morning that after this season, he is no longer able to maintain the KHSAA/Riherds scoreboard he created in 1997 after ALS diagnosis. >> 10thregion.com/frank-riherd-c… 10thregion.com/frank-riherd-c…

Likely union demonstration on The Strip tonight, casinos are dusting off and putting up doors. Unlike during the pandemic, they have keys to the doors now (many had never locked their doors prior).

@ScottButtram The Tutwiler is a Hampton Inn & Suites, yet the reporter calls it a "luxury hotel." I love Hampton Inns and stay there often, but they are by no means luxury, and that includes the Tutwiler. Do better.

Birmingham bowing down to some New Yorker is the most Birmingham thing ever. Because "he wants to ensure meaningful change is made." The city has had a Black mayor & majority for half a century. But, sure. Removing a historic photo should do it. al.com/news/2023/09/t…

I'd love Phil to use some of that courage and investigate the role Justin Jones had in covering up 2 sexual assaults outside the Tennessee State Capitol Summer of 2020. He is credibly accused. I have the posts, Phil... if you can't find them. Be BRAVE and go after a Democrat for once, Phil. Women matter. Sexual assault matters. #MeToo

3 of Alabama's 5 largest cities, Huntsville, Mobile, Birmingham, had newspapers shut down by out of state owners. The other 2 cities have daily newspapers run by these out-of-state folks. Montgomery Advertiser & Tuscaloosa News are now the newspaper dead pool favorites.

@ByCasagrande It is awesome. Big downside, though, is the only way anyone more than 40 feet away from the court can see the game is on the big screen. But man, the fan support!

@bhambizjrnl The likelihood of Birmingham going metro is microscopic, not just because of race but because of big differences in politics. Birmingham is skewing even more liberal under its current mayor. Those politics won't fly in the burbs, some of the most conservative places in the USA.

@bhambizjrnl As a native Kentuckian, I can say confidently that the differences between Lexington and Birmingham are huge. Lexington's "suburbs" were/are almost all huge horse farms.
