Come to me, all who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble heart, and you will find rest for your souls. -Jesus, Mt 11:28-29

NEW: Pope Leo has written to priests to mark the feast of the Sacred Heart: Dear priests, renew each day your “Here I am” before Christ’s pierced Heart. Give yourselves entirely to him, so that you may love his people with the same love with which he loves them. And joyfully remember how the saintly Curé of Ars loved to say that “the priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus”

All this happened just a stone's throw from what is now the Four Courts. The remains of the chamber in St Mary's Abbey where Silken threw down his sword is still there, underground, today. Both the Four Courts and King's Inns are built on land formerly owned by St Mary's Abbey, whose landholdings stretched along the north bank of the Liffey as it then was.

#Otd 1534: "Silken Thomas" Fitzgerald, 10th Earl of Kildare, heard rumours his father executed. Rode to St Mary's Abbey, Dublin with 140 gallowglasses! Renounced allegiance to cousin King Henry VIII! Henry confined his father to the Tower! Revolt followed! Father d. months later!

Fight the good fight! Catholics, the time is now. Rally the forces! We must stand united against all the wicked forces which desire to silence us. No more! The enemy of our soul never sleeps. If we don’t take ground, we will either remain where we are, bombarded by the enemies of our soul, or we will be crushed! Catholics, let’s take the hill for Christ! Use your words, use the Word! Take up your Rosaries, take up the Scriptures, take up the Church’ teaching, and engage! Enter into the public square and share the faith with the strength, love, and compassion of Christ! Do not be afraid! If God is for us, who can be against us? Do not let the world, the flesh, or the devil silence your Catholic voice! If we do not engage the spiritual war taking place, we are doomed. No longer is it sufficient to hope somebody else will do it. We must act! Let your voices be heard! Witness in the work place, witness in church, witness at school, witness in the public square, witness in private conversations, witness wherever you are in the world! We need witnesses now more than ever. Pray, pray everyday, pray like you have never prayed before, because if prayer is not front and center, our efforts are mere activism. Be Bold, Be Courageous, Be Catholic! Catholics, fight for the Church and for the kingdom of God! Mary is our Queen leader, and Christ is King of kings! No more cowardice, no more effeminacy, no compromises. Just victory in the name of Christ. Catholics, unite! “Fight like a knight.” Saint Joan of Arc

Some won't like my criticism of "Father" John Hogan but there is something called free speech. Those in priests collars are not beyond criticism

She doesn’t say she wishes the savage attack didn’t happen. She says she wishes people didn’t see the recording of it. That right there speaks volumes. 🇮🇪
