At the World Decolonization Forum, Dr. Esra Albayrak, the daughter of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, spoke about their endeavour to “decolonize” the West. The first phase of their plan as she says is not within the political realm, but the realm of knowledge and thought. Their alliance is not advocating for a world without the West, rather, there is an open invitation for the West to accept its own “decolonization”. The current centers of knowledge located in Paris, London, Amsterdam. And New York; need to be replaced by new centers in Istanbul, Jakarta, Addis Abbaba, Rabat, Cairo, and Gaza.

I had a wild conversation yesterday with an acquaintance (he's White) about Shiloh Hendrix. First off, he didn't know this was happening, at all. Secondly, he didn’t believe me when I told him Shiloh was essentially criminally prosecuted over saying the N-word. But he eventually said even if she was, "you just can't say that..." I was left pretty stunned by that. He essentially admitted that free speech no longer exists and that the government should be able to punish someone with the criminal justice system over a word... because he personally disliked that someone would say the N-word. I've personally experience that just saying the words, "White people" is DEEPLY uncomfortable for other White people. The entire room turns ice cold and every looks at the floor like you said something dirty or evil. It's crazy. I think a lot of White Americans have been conditioned to feel that talking about themselves as a group is somehow uniquely inappropriate, while conversations framed around virtually every other racial group are treated differently. Even when they think something is GENUINELY unfair, the response often isn’t, “That shouldn’t happen just because she's White” It’s more like: “Yeah… but she kind of deserved it.” And this is the NORM... and it's not good. It's essentially White people admitting they know the justice system is two-tiered and although it kinda bothers them... ...they think because the person is White, the White person somehow, someway whether by present or past actions, DESERVED the assault, the abuse, the crime. I'm not sure how we pull people out of this mindset, but it will destroy the entire country if we don't. What do we do?!
